There is no secret organization of women whose sole mission is creating false allegations against men. I know illuminati tier conspiracy theories are popular but c’mon now.
More people come forward now because, as Danellos pointed out, being the whistleblower is extremely difficult. Victims are often discouraged of speaking up and publicly ostracized if they do due to the difficulty of proving their claim.
The process is often not just humiliating and traumatizing but can actively cost them their reputation, their job, and their relationships (friends, family, and partner alike) while not guaranteeing their attacker will be sentenced or even prosecuted.
Once someone comes forward and is actually listened to, it encourages others to do the same.
You don’t hear about them because the accused isn’t famous.
You any idea what its like to face your abuser ? The strength you need ? Reliving those moments over and over again feeling sick and drained .
Its take a lot of will not to break you and make a stand .
See’ing all this recently for anyone thats gone through it is hard .
Dont even try and mock this.
One thing that strikes me about this whole affair is how a group of so called ‘pro gamers’ have acted in a totally unprofessional manner, not just in relation to current issues bur apparently over a period of years.
Did they really think that something like this wouldn’t eventually be uncovered ?
They’ve let themselves down, they’ve let their sponsors down and most importantly they’ve let the whole gaming community down and should be totally ashamed of what they’ve done.
I’ve been following eSports since the early StarCraft 2 days, and it really honestly actually doesn’t surprise me. Outside Korea, most eSports teams are woefully inadequate at running their organizations like a business, and the unprofessionalism and egos seep into everything. That is why it doesn’t surprise me that the Method house of cards is collapsing.
All this talk of ESports being the next big thing, big money sponsorship, TV rights, there’s even some touting for this sort of thing to be in the Olympics, as all total bullcrap.
The whole Esport thing in the Western world needs a huge shakeup and a big clean out before it can even start to be taken seriously.
What I see is a group of entitled selfish children all pretending to be something they’re not trying to kid the rest of the world that they’re somehow a group of ‘elite gamers’.
They have a loooong way to go and a lot of growing up to do before anyone that matters starts to look at Esports as anything other than a group of clueles amateurs that have for the moment fooled some sponsors into parting with their money.
I partially blame the gaming companies (Including Blizzard) for not regulating these people enough and the sponsors for not checking out exactly who these people are and how they conduct them selves.
Hopefully these recent events will make the people that matter realise that there needs to be tighter controls and regulations on these esport teams and maybe we’ll see some action on that front sometime in the future.
He was HUGE in the early 70’s in the UK and was one of the leading lights of the Glam Rock scene, sold millions of records but unfortunately he was also a particularly obnoxious person as well as another very unpleasant and well documented trait.
(Before anyone starts arguing about the ‘obnoxious person’ comment, I’ve met him and know several members of his family and he wasn’t a person I would want to associate with on a personal level)
worst part of this hole thing, is that Methods leadership who knew, most likely have destroyed totaly innocent peoples careers at the same time now, becuse Method had quite a lot of players, in different games, but due to this, it is realy hard for anyone to know, how many knew about it, and how many where totaly clueless.
this meens those who had no idea, will be swept under same as the rest, atleat until they can prove they had no idea, what is close to impossible.
yeah i googled him superficially. he looks already like someone whos unpleasant to have around. looks like hes not making it out of prison alive either.
This is every era, ever. This is nothing new nor has it ever been anything new other than the fact that each generation seems to think that it is.
The internet has just allowed for this to flourish more due to how much more interconnected we are. The basic pointing fingers etc. has not change much over the centuries.
Now that is something you have implied after reading my most. Never did I state that the accusations have to be false.
-No my question is actually still valid. Writing an factually accurate “essay” especially something personal. Is not something you do in a 24h time span. It is enough to write a single sentence wrong and your whole accusation falls apart and it might backfire badly.
-All the accusations usually happens in a single day. While a few comes 1-2 days later.
Now that is a bit of a stretch. There are none almost none? There should be at least a dozen, especially when it is a lot of twitch streamer allegations going on right now.
Now that I reread the sentence it does sound mocking if you read it that way. Lmao. Not my intention, I apologize. I am personally not emotionally invested in this at all.
People do however psychologically put in their own narrative. Depending on the side they have taken. So there is no point for me beating a dead horse.
If you would care to google how many people are accused, arrested, fined or imprisoned for various offences per year you’ll find that there are a lot more than are reported on online or in the media. The only ones that really hit the headlines or become known about are the very tip of the iceberg and are usually where the person is either well known or the case is such an extreme that it immediately makes the headlines.
There is a report available online that estimates that over 510,000 people were assaulted in 2016 and even if you just take the ones that were reported, according to the report 5 out of 6 are never reported, that is still 85,000 reported cases in one year alone.
