Metric system?

Is there a way to change distances in-game from yards to meters?

Some measurements have feet and stuff. As warrior you could measure distances in leaps too. One leap, two leap… “The vendor is 5 leaps away towards east” one small leap for war, one giant leap for playerbase in discovering new ways to measure distances.

It should be neither yards nor meters; measure system in-game should have their own “unit”, like “paces” or “gnomes”.

Yep we should use “legs”

Thats the forsaken way. Just neatly line one leg on the next…
Wait you guys can take your legs of right?

With a different language client it changes from feet to meter.

For spells and abilities it should be just Long range, Short range and melee range or something like that. There really is no need for yards or meters for these.

For the distance to a quest location or a map marker, i don’t really care what the unit is, as long as it clearly indicates if I am getting close or if the location is still “miles away”. Instead of using real life units, some sort of color indicator would be neat. For example starting from dark red and transforming to bright green the closer you get

My spells have the range of 22 Xal’atath feet.
In other terms 12 potatos, 5 bananas and 648 beans.
Anything BUT the metric system

In my country we use Cow. Cow is good measurement. Also good protein. And good neighbourly relationships if Cow is exchanged.

Cow is good. Yes.

Yep, it’s tied to the client language, sorry

This is the only acceptable improvement :dracthyr_nod:

So one gnome is 1m, half a gnome 50cm and head 25cm.

I accept that.

Royale with cheese

VINCENT - and you know what they call a Quarter Pounder with Cheese in Paris?

JULES - They don’t call it a Quarter Pounder with Cheese?

VINCENT - No, they got the metric system there, they wouldn’t know what a Quarter Pounder is.

JULES - Then what do they call it?

VINCENT - They call it Royale with Cheese.

if you use german everything is shown in meter

changed my language to english in game only for weak aura scripts, which used the actual cast names instead of the spell ids

I just imagine that yard refers to the typical backyard size and I work accordingly. With a lawnmower and the like :evergreen_tree:

My fav word in chinese/japanese is 物 (thing). Because it consists of two components 牛 (cow) and 勿 (do not/not).

That’s right. The chinese/japanese word for a thing is that they are not cows.

Brits and usa use foot as measure, they just decided that persons feet is something long, and it is completely inaccurate when people’s feet vary in size as much as the length of their noses :joy:

a dead cow is a good cow .

In my country we have a “reindeer piss” measurement. That is a fact. It is the length of how far a reindeer can run without the need to urinate and it is approx. 7,5 km
