Please can we get a mid season patch for havoc demon hunters?
It’s extremely difficult in keys right now we are barely competing with the tanks on overall damage and the community knows this and shuns us as a result. Getting into keys higher than 15-19 is impossible.
Rogues, warriors, surv hunters are soooo far ahead of us it’s a joke. I just did a key with a surv hunter that is 20 ilevels lower than me and I barely beat him on damage. Rogues at the same ilevel as me (297) are doing like 50% more damage, and warriors are just off the chart.
Just uncap eye beam already, or something, anything!
There not going to do any mid season changes Dh players wanted changes going into season 4 as we could see there where issue but they didnt want to listen or care they said in a blue post we dont feel like now is the time to do any changes to dh as we are starting a new season which made zero sence and they where changing hunters and warlock that was a nerf not a buff tbf but we where pretty much told f off so id say go play classic or find a game on steam to play till DF you have a better chance to get every other class nerfed then to get us a buff lol
in my opinion hDH is good now. ofc not the best and meta spec, but good middle spec for keys and looking good with surv/wl/mage/sp-bdk/ppal-hprist/rshamy.
we have bigger potential than feral/rpala/dk and some another specs
Looking at your gear I dare say it feels better on your character than mine.
Are you saying that we scale better once we have Mythic raiding gear? Because at my level (full m+ gear with some heroic raid items), my experience is not the same as yours.
Also, if that is the case, then it also shouldn’t be the case that the only way to push higher m+ keys is to out gear the dungeons with Mythic raiding gear.
Get the Xy’mox trinket and play cycle of hatred venthyr. You’ll be competitive in DPS, though I’ll admit it’s not a fun playstyle and depends heavily on RNG and timings to line up that you don’t have control over.

You won’t be top DPS, but it’s still good enough to do 23~25 keys.
i start pushing keys without weapons and xymox trink and it was fine. ofc with my gear it easier, but not necessary. i get my trink when i was at about 2.8k rio. and you should to know that i pushing with random ppl from lfg
The image you linked is all borrowed power cant wait for DF to hopefully change that, also that is one pull meta with trinket you can do that every 4 mins. The warlock can do that every pull look at overall end of dungeon. Yes, but that doesn’t change the fact that it is possible and you’ll not be far behind, and that you can still do keys up to at least 25 without issues that way. Also shouldn’t compare raid dps with m+
I completely agree with Demonvassei, your post is super misleading. Linking a single pull where you have used both meta and the trinket on a large number of mobs in a particular dungeon (lower kara) is not indicative of DH’s performance in keys at all.
Also, I am already playing that build and have the trinket in question and have done keys up to 20/21. The point is I want to be able to feel like it’s possible to contribute to pushing even higher keys 25-30 and not feel like the group would be better off with another class.
If you want to link your end of dungeon overall dps I strongly suspect you have been carried by your lock and mage through those 24-25 keys that you did, and they could have pushed higher keys easily with rogue/hunter/monk instead of a DH.
Anyway, it’s all too late now, we wait for pre-patch and dragonflight in hope…

Roughly same DPS output, usually not more than a few k difference overall damage. Especially not considering my group (frost mage, warlock, shaman) all benefit from Chaos Brand. If I don’t forget, I’ll post the overall DPS
Not saying it’s easy, and surely not saying it’s fun, but DH can still compete in +25 keys.
Here’s our last timed upper kara 25. This is with the cheese strat at the last boss, so I didn’t really get to do much for about 33% of the boss’ health.
Upper kara is mostly smaller packs, so no unlimited cleave. Lower kara has a ton of bigger pulls, but even there if playing around meta, it’ll be higher. You should be able to get 20~22k dps on havoc there in +20~22 keys.
