the planned changes in midnight look terrible it’s taken all complexity and stamped it out into something that looks insanely boring i think you have taken pruning with bm to far i have mained hunter since 2008 and for the first time i am thinking of dropping it. the bottom line is it’s far to bear bones and look like it’s designed for a mobile game i mean we get 1 cooldown bloodshed(not a fun or existing cd) straight up downgrade in term of game play and visuals compared to wild call yet in midnight we don’t even need to press it it’s baked into BW it feels like if the classes drop like this midnight will be the expac i finally quit wow
Yeah, honestly, I have no idea what blizzard is thinking like BM was not even that complex to begin with but the little skill expression we had is completely gone.
Like making sure you maintain frenzy that is gone multi dotting barbed shot in m+ is also gone if you talent the auto spread.
We don’t have any CD’s outside of beastial wrath, no making sure you don’t refresh kill cleave too early because the duration is the same as the CD activator.
The spec is almost entirely passive now
You know, at one point BM was quite skill based in order to perform at the top end of it’s dps potential.
I think it was throughout BfA and Shadowlands. Had to manage multiple short term buffs and try not to let any of them drop since they could actually drop and if they did it would absolutely plummet your dps. Keeping your barbed buffs at 3 stacks all the time was super tight with timings. AoE mixed in Mulit-Shot and multi-dotting whilst doing everything you had to do for single target as well. Basically, you couldn’t just smash everything on cooldown if you wanted to be a “skilled” BM player.
Now, you just fire everything off brainlessly except Multi-Shot and it’s practically impossible to lose your stacks or be short on Focus. Midnight removes the need to time your multi-shots and do the multi-dotting. It’s “literally” a face roll rotation now. You can genuinely press 12345… 12345… 12345… rapidly and you’ll be playing it perfectly.
It annoys me because it’s my fav class fantasy and I really don’t like the “casual’s spec” reputation it has because it hasn’t always been true, other than it having it’s own personal tank for soloing…
… but it’s definitely true now and for the foreseeable future.
