Here are my takes on fire mage on midnight. I understand what blizzard is trying to do but I don’t think they are doing it in a good way for spec. Like the idea on decreasing of uptime needed on target, but also removing sun fire king blessing and kindling would decrease CRIT strike impact even more. I think that I would like longer CD and more meaningful combustion than perma spam combust. But outside of combustion right now fire mage doesn’t have much to offer
Here are my ideas:
During combustion frostfire/fireball cast time decrease and has instant or shorter travel time and cast able while moving (scorch treatment)
Make CRIT matter like for havoc DH, it increases CRIT strike DMG
Bring back blessing of sun fire king but a bit different, make it grant you buff every something seconds making your hardcast Pyro change into pyroclasm and grant you combust for 6 sec + 3 stacks of blaster master so u can have some of back to back fire blast/pyro during short combust without worrying about your buff
Make pyroclasm different spell - change on cast bar, damage matter and visual
Delete controlled destruction and make ignite a bit more easier to spread so changing targets won’t be so punishable with ignite gameplay
Of course I’m more favorable to ignite gameplay because there is nothing more boring than hardcasting flame strikes outside combustion
Being able to have combust of sun king blessing and by using it by hand can make gameplay a bit more well maintained that what’s currently is on beta. Also you can differ both combustion via talent making them differ a bit.
