Looks promising all in all. However, for my taste, the nameplates should be much more in your face:
Make the currently selected Mob clearer, e.g. use something like >nameplate<.
Important casts need more emphasis.
Give mobs nameplate based on their threat to the group.
I understand this is borderline, but once the tank pulls 20 mobs, separating the important from the irrelevant is very difficult and stressful. That’s why I love plater more than any other add on.
you just killed the “weak aura” addon…

i wanna see how you manage to give a good stagger bar on my brewmaster now and not this close to useless under my energybar, which tells me only how much stagger i have and not…
->how much i take dmg i take per stagger tick
->how much stagger i have in %, because you can have more stagger than 100%, but its just such a bad interface
->in which kind of stagger level i am (green, yellow, red), by simply looking at the staggerbar and not a debuff
The problem is that we need these addons due ridicilous difficulty scaling, miss one interupt some one dies, everyone develops OCD as result requiring addons to fix a problem that devs should be adressing not by removing addons but having proper scaling.
I am seeing a hunter one shot him self now even on mini boss on left side at PSF on reflect mechanic, now imagine there being no warning for that everyone supose to just one shot them self to find out oh maybe i should not do that, and not know when to not hit the boss, focusing on a tiny name plate icon on a really big screen to tell hey do not dps me now ?
Which something weak auras can fix by giving you a big weak aura telling you to stop dps for example.
But hey lets get rid of the solution rather then the problem.
However, they also wrote: Put that way, we almost love the change, but it does put WeakAuras in a weird spot, since “fixing gaps in information” was our bread and butter.
The issue is that some addon developers went over the top with their functionalities in combat scenarios.
Blizzard accepted this and created their content around those addons so the content stayed challenging.
This is a spiral that was prone to get out of hand at one point and Blizzard, as the content developers, are the ones who have to check and eventually pull the handbreak before they are completely incapable of creating content that is impossible for non addon users to complete.
As a game developer you are in responsibility to provide a game that is playable entirely vanilla with only the UI options of the game itself, and that was not the case anymore for a long time now. Blizzard had to pull the breaks.
Now they involve those addon developers to find a proper middleground for implementing some of the addond functionalities while keeping a lid on how much combat information the player should be allowed to have and then creating content around those functionalities.
Prohibiting further combat addons serves the sole purpose the not having the system spiral off again.
I hope role playing addons will not get caught in the crossfire.
If the chat reading addons are only turned off in instances, then it will be fine. If not, then RIP CrossRP, Emote Splitter and some chat related functionalities of TRP.
