I want to share the following changes for midnight, which will help incentivize the entire PvP community, including R1 players and casuals. Eventually, these changes would encourage greater participation, subscriptions, and higher ROI for Blizzard. These are as follows:
- The primary issue lies in the reward system involving “vicious saddles.” Many casual players have numerous saddles gathering dust in their inventories, as they already possess the vicious mounts and have no use for the surplus saddles. Additionally, any character rating above 1,000 can contribute to the seasonal bar’s progress, but the saddle becomes soulbound to the last character that completes the bar. Now with the Housing feature, additionally, PvPers can be given the option to add Galdiator mount and Vicious mount as mounts/pets outside the house in the stable. That would also significantly incentivize the community and enhance the appeal of housing.
Solution: Make the vicious saddles account-wide and redeemable for customizing earned vicious mounts (like changing colors and skins) and older gladiator mounts. This change would have a significantly positive impact on the entire PvP community.
- The three PvP currencies—Honor, Bloody Tokens, and Conquest—currently follow different rules regarding being warbound. Honor is taxed at 20%. Bloody Tokens earned from world PvP are NOT warbound, while Conquest is warbound through a frustrating RNG loot box.
Solution: Eliminate RNG involvement in warbound currencies. Players should be able to transfer any earned currency to any character within their warband, similar to the “Bronze” currency from the Legion Remix. Additionally, no tax should be imposed on any currency. It makes no sense to have a tax, especially considering that Valor Stones recently became warbound with a tax. Finally, when all PvP currencies are warbound, why should world PvP currency be an exception? In summary, make all PvP currencies account-wide without any RNG or tax.
- The introduction of 8v8 SoloQ Blitz has negatively impacted the already struggling 10v10 premade RBGs, and Solo Shuffle has nearly destroyed 3v3 Arena. Despite being distinct game modes, Gladiator and Solo Shuffle receive 3v3 rewards and prestigious mounts, while Solo Shuffle gets nothing. Furthermore, the 8v8 Blitz is played on the same maps as premade 10v10 RBGs, yet both modes receive the same rewards, ratings, and achievements. In addition, while R1 Gladiator players can use in-game seasonal titles like Verdant Gladiator or Crimson Gladiator, RBG or Blitz Hero achievers are only given HoTH/HoTA to use in-game, despite earning seasonal titles.
Solution: Either convert Blitz 8v8 into a 10v10 SoloQ paired with premade or keep it separate, but ensure both modes have different rewards, titles, and ratings. The same approach should apply to Solo Shuffle and 3v3 premades. Furthermore, all brackets should award Gladiator mounts with various skins. Hero achievers should also be allowed to display their earned seasonal titles, such as Crimson HoTH or Verdant HoTH, on their specific characters. Implementing these changes would immediately revitalize all rated PvP brackets, ultimately boosting participation and subscription revenue for Blizzard—everyone benefits!
