Midsummer Fire Festival is upon us

…and I have quite a grind in front of me. Seems like I have neglected this event in the past.

How about you guys?

Yeh, I need everything, except from the Dancing statue which I got back in TBC.

I have yet to participate in any of the holiday events so I’m looking forward to figuring out what the craic is.

All the things flashed up I was missing a toy so I farmed some bonfires. Think I’m all up to date again now.

So what is the most time-efficient way of farming the currency Burning Blossom? Traveling around to every bonfire in every zone will be time-consuming, and I assume that is once per event per character and not a daily thing. Or is taking the quest visiting enemy capitals the saner option?

Download the Candy Bucket addon and complete the Fires of Azeroth and Desecration of the Horde/ally achieve together. You will have like 500 Burning Blossoms.

Do not use flight masters, if it takes you to the destination point in circles.

Complete the Flame Warden meta-achieve.

Thanks! Just did a round trip with one of my Rogues last night, and ended up with about 700 Burning Blossoms. Still a grind given the amount of the currency needed to clear the vendor for collectables, but at least the vent lasts long enough to give me the opportunity to repeat the trip with multiple characters whenever I am done with my weekly stuff with them.

I tried farming bonfires once… the sheep already in the field didn’t appreciate it.

Still, no need to shear them now.

I did just Kalimdor, the daily quests for the summon bosses (click a stone) and one run of Ahune and I had more than enough for my three missing toys.

Poor sheep!

Did it a few years ago.
The bit I struggled with was the fire throwing / catching one. I managed it with ghost wolf (can’t remember if I needed to change graphic settings to see the shadows).

Apart from that there are some pets I could get but @ 350 blossoms I cba this year.

So so excited I can do all this for the 14th year in a row with most of my chars. How amazing they are to give a new toy or whatever in the vendor. we are so lucky to have this old dry content shoved at us!

i dont miss getting the reverence for the flame xp buff for alts
mostly those i will not level in shadowlands
i dont think it stacks with darkmoon faire buff
some alts have the midsummer buff and i will wait for hallows end to get grim visage
and i am curious which holiday events xp buffs stack with each other?

Remember having problems with this back in Vanilla, until someone told me to go to Silvermoon, as it was quieter there, and the colour scheme of the ground meant you could see the shadows easier.

It is visually doable in Ironforge - but It became that unfun that I abandoned the quest.

i thought the same about bcc orgrimmar when i logged to my belf pala there
idk sun might be shining on the ground so i cant see where the torch lands haha

i hope for that dress you buy from the vendor to be available as a permanent mog
not just all year

btw the daily quest giver now has 6x striking back
and one more in shattrath

Three new toys this year

hmm, think I’ll get them next year, just cba this year.
I’ve never really gotten into the toy collecting thing yet. One day I’ll read a guide and get hunners.

Eh, I have what I need from there.

I wonder about the motivation behind the locations of the city bonfires as the current setup clearly favours Alliance players.

Thunder Bluff, Ogrimmar, and Undercity bonfires are all easy to reach and depart from. The only difficult city is Silvermoon where stealth or a party of players is a necessity.

On Alliance we only have Darnassus as a walk in the park. Stormwind’s bonfire is in a tight spot surrounded by guards and a wall with no escape route but the canal, which still gives a high risk of a corpse run.
Then there is indoor Ironforge, at least flying in is a possibility. As opposed to Exodar which is as difficult as Silvermoon, unless counting in the factor that Exodar is the least popular city on Azeroth.

Well, I found undercity to be quite hard to get to. Stormwind is easy to fly to.
