Migrating from sod. possible solution?

the latest thread about limitation of migrating SOD characters to other servers.
maybe provide a basic gear (dungeon tier or something) for people who want to migrate to wow classic anniversary TBC. it is not mandatory . the migration will wipe out the bags and items. but it is a solution .

Just level a character on Anniversary server now before tbc

Why would I want to play downgrade vanilla AQ and Naxx after just finishing SoD AQ and Naxx?

whats the appeal of migrating a SOD toon over to era/anniversary/other vanilla server anyway?
you’re gonna lose all your SOD-exclusive gear, runes, spells etc. so why would you even want to do that?

it would feel absolutely terrible to convert a SOD char to its ‘vanilla state’ and that’s besides the “lose all your stuff” aspect of the deal.

Yeah been asking the same question since the beginning. I really don’t understand why I would want to downgrade. Hell in some cases even TBC doesn’t make for that entertaining rotation for some classes (Fire mage is literally just “Spam Fireball” on ST)

And what of the million and a half black scarabs and rank 14s that’re harder to get in anniversary?

What of all the potions and consumables that are worthless on SoD (2g black lotus on Wild Growth) that’re probably worth more on anniversary?

Screw the anniversary players because you can’t be bothered to level again, right?

It cannot work, otherwise why would anyone level up on Anniversary if you can simply do it with runes and a XP buff then migrate.

Is it good advice? Just level new character. Its takes forever to level up. Most players have done it 100s of times and just dont want to.
Just …

Maybe you can trade the MoP boost for a TBC boost xD

it is just a suggestions. instead of characters wither away when population drops to single digit numbers. as a mounts / ashbringer /atiesh holder i know it is hard, but an option none the less .

All this talk just makes two things obvious.

  1. Devs should have been scummy and tell us nothing feeding into the false hope that SoD would continue.

  2. Devs were right all that time when they denied Era realms for TBC and WotLK considering how readily so many of you jump on SoD’s dead abandon ship bandwagon.
