Mike Morhaime's new game after leaving Blizzard

Dreamhaven’s first game;

Essentially it’s Sea of Thieves, in Space, with Overwatch style fps action.

Well good luck to him and hopefully it doesn’t go the way of that other “Wild” game that probably let a certain dev know that “no actually… not everyone wants to play a game on such a hardcore level it stops being a videogame”

Wouldn’t be surprised if there’s devs from that [already ex-Devs of Blizz] working on with Dreamhaven, especially the art department.

They both have that ‘Blizzard’ style.

It always amazed me that people used to scream “omg wow is dead!!!” when they learned that a dev had left Blizzard.

It apparently never occured to them that the devs who left were probably sick to the back teeth of WoW and wanted to try something else.

Like Blizzard aren’t the only videogame developer who have had team members leave to pursue other projects.

The only developer where I haven’t heard anyone leave for any reason outside of getting pension (or dying) is Nintendo.

There are 3 videogame entities that i would describe as being a malignant stain on videogaming.

Those companies are,

EA.
Activision.
Nintendo. (closely followed by SONY)

NINTENDO

Ubisoft should be in that list.

It looks decent.

It oozes original Blizzard with emphasis on rad stuff and awesome gameplay and rule of cool all the way, which is no surprise. It’s Blackthorne and Rock n’ Roll Racing and that kind of Blizzard inspiration.

And it’s joining the fray with other companies in what seems to be the buzz in gaming these days, which is small-scale co-op FPS in various forms of PvE and PvP. Makes sense.

And it’s roughly 4 years in the making, which is impressive given the circumstances and the background.

And this game will of course be held up against whatever StarCraft FPS game that Blizzard are working on, whenever that gets revealed.

They’re B Tier along with Konami, CAPCOM and SEGA although SEGA does get credit for being unafraid to innovate. Well. Up until they discontinued the Dreamcast.

Looks moderately neat. Not what I’d hoped for personally, but I think I’ll try it out.

I also hope that the funding they’re giving to Stormgate will end up paying off. Seems like they’re fixing things but it’s going to be a long road…

Are Blizzard working on a StarCraft FPS game?

It’d be a dream come true for me, but I’ll believe it when I see it.

Yes. Open world something something is the word on the grapevine. I keep thinking Battlefield, but knowing how many iterations Blizzard go through and how long this has been in development and how much success a game like Helldivers II has, eh, who knows.

But yeah, En Taru Adun. :space_invader: :dizzy:

So basically they made Wildstar Shooter Battle Royal…?

Looks like it also has a bit of Sea of Thieves mixed in.

I think I’ll pass on it. Not a huge fan of the genre and none of the characters are to my personal tastes.

I…was honestly tempted to try it after seeing the trailer, cause it so screams Wildstar for me.
But I don’t want another PvP game.

I still miss Wildstar. It had so much potential that was ultimately squandered.

Battle Royal, wat?

Have you never heard of the Extraction genre?? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

FPS and spaceships? I’m already out.
Big nope from me.

I’m an old man, for me it’s all pvp/shooter.
