Shadow Crash having such a long cooldown and also being able to “miss” if the tank moves the mobs (which happens all the time in dungeons) really sucks for Shadow AOE.
If the goal truly is to have dots rolling on everything instead of using Mind Sear then priests should have a better way of spreading those dots, like having a talent that lets Mind Blast spread your dots from your primary target.
This is actually a great idea. I’ve never liked shadow crash as a spell, like at least make it lock onto targets, rather than being 99% likely to miss
And the cap of 8 makes no sense, they should just make an aura that makes the dots deal less damage when applied to more than 8 targets
Or simply replace shadow crash with cascade, but keep the dot spread function of it Cascade: Launch a Shadowy bolt that grows in power with distance, damaging an enemy for up to (183.6% of Spell power), and then bouncing to additional enemies 4 times. Each time it bounces, it splits into 2 bolts.
Just remove the distance part of it, to make it deal flat damage
They should just remove Shadow crash and add Cascade and make so Mind blast spread VT and Shadow word death spread Pain on all targets 8 yards close to each others in combat
bring back searing nightmare and let it be a automatic dot spread like it was but without mind sear just let it be a dot spread that deals damage costing insanity.
