I am mostly a PvP player and most of the players might not experience this problem on a regular basis. As a priest, I face this bug every game and even lost some teammates saying they would never play with a priest again because of it.
Since the beginning of Shadowlands, using a Mind Control inside the arena creates bugs. Disconnecting from the game, freezes… Most frequently, the ennemy player starts to move weirdly. Teleporting on several meters, just like a 300ping player would move.
I am very disappointed that this bug hasn’t been corrected yet. It is litteraly ruining players experience and should not be in the game.
It seems that this problem still won’t be fixed on 9.1 release and I am seriously considering to stop the game because of it.
They should just give us an alternative ability. MC is really fun and you can do a lot of cool things with it, but it has been bugged for years now. There used to be a bug in the game for ~6 years where it would disconnect you 30-40% of the time when you tried to MC someone, now its only around 5% of the time but it has like 50% chance of making the player you MC desync from everyone else
Overall the ability is a buggy mess they cant fix.
My bet is they have updated some network related component in the framework that cannot be rolled back and is causing the bug, so is not trivial to resolve. I have heard this bug is also now in the TBC beta which isn’t surprising.
Makes playing priest or with priests a lot worse though
The question is, why they aren’t vocal about this at least. Explain the issue to people and that it’S not easy to come by with and then we at least know. It doesn’t make it less annoying but it doesn’t feel like they don’t care anymore which helps a lot enduring it. We wouldn’t feel neglected as a community anymore.
Probably because developers are human and the internet is full of dumbasses that cannot separate their emotions from situations such that they retort to vile behaviour that shouldn’t be acceptable (but lolz internetzzz) so now they have some kind of reveal nothing policy.
Some one-sided posting without replies would be nice but well, I guess the idea of then reading all of the backlash that would create prevents it. I have zero faith that if they were vocal at all, you’d still get a ton of abuse. But I agree not acknowledging what is basically a game breaking bug does make it feel like they do not care - but I don’t think that will be the case. It will just be policy.
Just make a onesided announcement. Don’t even make answering possible. Noone cares what the average joe has to say about this anyways because nothing what they might say would ever change anything. You are completely right that, no matter what they say, there will ALWAYS be idiots who lash out, who flame, who insult, who troll… you name it. So there is absolutely no need to even give these people a plattform to begin with. There are issues? People are complaining on forums/twitter w/e? Ok, let’s see, oh ok, we are aware of that, just give them a quick note that the issue is being worked on but it’s not that easy to fix so please be patient.
THIS is much better than being completely silent about everything and, worse, banning people who mention it during an official stream.
It’s honestly ridiculous this hasn’t been acknowledged by Blizzard. But then again, this isn’t the only bug in the game right now that they haven’t fixed since launch.
Well, Blizzard is earning more money but their player count is down almost 30% over the last couple of years overall. This includes all of Blizzard’s games though, it isn’t specific to only WoW.
It paints a grim picture of the future that’s to come. I’m betting token-centric designs like the one in Shadowlands will remain for a long time, and it wouldn’t surprise me if they’ll push tokens into either of the Classic versions.
Them earning more money than before yet losing (almost) 30% of the player base in all of their games combined isn’t a good thing for consumers.
eye of the storm baby. it’s a really low chance of doing it one one MC but I love jumping people into the abyss. Of course a shaman will come alone and do the same to me but that’s 99% more enjoyable than a pala one shotting me.
