It is absurdly good in PvP already, I don’t know what you mean that it needs to be better there. You’re right that it doesn’t see much use in PvE and dominate mind doesn’t really do anything to solve that since no one can take it over better options.
But in PvP? Timing it so you make an enemy miss a key cooldown or when you can just use it to let DoT’s tick on them while the enemy healer can’t even heal them back up can be maddeningly annoying.
I can see how it works in PvP for you, maybe they should move it to the PvP tallents, and move a PvP skill to be available in both pve and pvp?
I know, i will probably get branded for that comment, but seems an easy solution if Blizz doesnt want to go the full road of finally repairing things that dont work for both sides of the coin…
Thats just like many tallents on most classes, some are just chosen in PvP? In my limited vision, that kind of limits the options…
New strat in mecha workshop to mc the gigazap adds and use there’s squirrel bombs on adds to melt them. Does a ton of dmg, can’t wait to try it.
What a strange sentence that was. Very niche talent but can be brilliant in the right circumstances. Tank dies in a dungeon 2 adds left, fade then mc one to fight the other!
CC generally has little use in PVE. In m+ keeping a mob CC’ed usually slows the run down. Maybe it would be cool if some dungeons had mobs that could cast buffs on each other, so that a priest could mc the mobs and buff their party.
Last time I can think of mind control being used in a raid was to kill the adds on Jaina, and before then it was mythic blast furnace in Blackrock Foundry, where it was mandatory to bring a priest.
Actually Blizzard do MC in raid useless. Even in strong trash packs they are immune to MC. This is how they treat MC in PvE. In PvP has some strong sides, BUT is very easy to get interrupted or any CC on channeling cast. Also share diminishing return with all other CCs, that priest have.
As said before, it was used on jaina encounter.
And its also used quite regularly in m+ to counter bursting and bolsterig…for example on skyscreechers or w/e the hell are they named on bridges in atal dazar. Its also used to intterupt mobs like enforcers in tol dagor.
It have some niche uses, but its also heavily directed by blizz where you can use it.
This is how i played my mentalist in Everquest long before WoW…
For those that dont know, everquest is the game blizzard used as the base of WoW Vanilla… they looked at it, copied it… placed it in the Warcraft universe… and then tried to repair the thing many people back then saw as the flaws of EQ…
Seems we are now at a point, where we want to bring back many of those things we saw as flawed back then in EQ…
