minimap red yellow and green dots all disappeared,

I’m not sure what dots you mean. Do you mean pets and mobs?
I’m going to make a guess.
Above the minimap is a bar that shows the name of your location.
On the left of that bar is a square button, “Tracking”. Click that button and you get a drop-down menu.
For Hunters, the top line in that menu is Hunter Tracking, Select that and you will see another menu of what to track.
On that list, tick the types of creature you want to appear on your minimap.

Is your minimap zoomed in? Have you tried clicking the minus symbol on the right side of the minimap?
- red dots = hostile mobs
- yellow dots = neutral mobs
- green dots = friendly mobs
