From start Outland and to end cataclysm, mining is almost impossible any time of the day.
This result in leveling professions which require mining a real struggle. And also on the max level aspect of it. You can not make anything due to no material gains.
What i think is wrong is the mining from Outland and up, should have the same amount on mining nodes as the mining maps before Outland.
A good example is winterspring, barrens, Hillsbrad, plaguelands, fellwood all these zones have many mining nodes, where Outland and up in my guess have half the nodes compared to these areas.
Not a single map in Outland have a good amount of nodes in them.
Either put more nodes in the maps from outland and up, or reduce the respawn time to 15 sec. All maps from Outland and up are either camped for mining or really need more nodes. The mining progression nearly stops at this point, flying a hole map to get one or two nodes for a complete fly through is just not great.
Same goes for Borean Tundra and howling fjord, which is also terrible mining maps of the same reasons as above mentioned.
I Know its an old game and changes will most likely not happen. But for someone who have a lot characters and professions, it’s really a bad part of the overall experience doing professions.
I guess when we get Mist of Pandaria we can finally get to mine, but then it’s of no use at that time.
Buying it from auction house is not a valid option, since all things are way to expensive in the server im on. And you should also not be forced to buy it to progress tbh, its a game issue that i do not understand still exist after the many years the game have been out. I often simply give up on professions all together that require mining.
Some say do it early morning. I try that and still camped by others, then very late night, still camped. This is especially a problem in Uldum, twilight highlands and sometimes Hyjal as well. There is a reason to do mining also because of the boost to stamina, if mining didn’t have that bonus I would really just skip it all together that’s how bad I think it is.
To unlock blacksmith recipes you need a hell lot of elementium, but nowhere to get it really. I hope for changes even tho I doubt it. But now I have told my biggest frustration about the hole game.
