I suggest implementing a captcha-like minigame upon right-clicking a mining/herb node to fight the bot situation. Other games already do this. The fact that you can just right-click auto loot them is beyond stupid in 2023, same with fishing.
How about no? Gathering stuff is already insufferable enough without garbage like that.
But selling them for silvers is not insufferable?
Tell me you don’t actually farm without telling me
What about the way they did it in Allods? The nodes float around as glowing small spores.
Blizzard needs to do something about the farms of bots who mine/herb nodes all day, they’re mostly in Zaralek Caverns because no one goes there.
Your thoughts is right, i don’t know a captcha but they need to do something
Tell me you’ve never designed a game without telling me.
Tell that to those devs that actually implement similar things in their games, or you think bots picking nodes without ANY kind of problems is the pinnacle of game design? Enlighten me great one
Do you think doing low paid repetitive labour in a game is the pinnacle of gameplay? Stand aside bots, I want to do that gruntwork!
“Bots are bad!!!” (Yea, but I see cheap herbs as an upside).
I am for sure not going to gather my herbs anymore when i have to play a minigame before i get them.
Solution for anti-botting is , work energy with 24 hours cd , most mmos have it . u can piuck up 100 herba and 100 nodes / 24 hours = done with bots and endless farming .
What if I do like simple chores in an mmo? Or fishing? Without a bot invalidating my time spent? Does everyone have to sweat in raids and dungeons? It’s a pretty fantasy game you can relax in.
The “cheap herbs” is a very old and lazy excuse. What if we just increase the number of flowers given by node? That way the number of elixirs would remain the same, only the gold would end up in player hands instead of bots.
Bots are not a “necessary evil”.
Exactly, I don’t farm more than strictly necessary for what I need for crafting, and don’t plant to change that. I find it insufferable, and don’t want it to become even more insufferable so a handful of capitalist speculators can get their hands onto more gold.
No thank you, this will just make gathering hell for everyone.
Simple chores like completing captchkas?
Might stop the bots (although they’d probably be trained how to do those) it would also stop regular mining and herbing (who’d be ersed doing that every time?) so the price of materials on AH would shoot up (so the three miners still doing it would be happy for a while) but crafters would just stop crafting, the hobbyist professioneers would go entirely.
The economy would completely collapse.
I didn’t really mean a literal captcha like on websites, you can pick any of the systems other games implemented already and do that. It could be like click twice instead of once, you are waiting the channeling time anyways.
As I said we could also increase the yield of the nodes so prices wouldn’t skyrocket instantly.
It’s already collapsed, there is no real economy on dragonflight.
If you are SO bothered by gathering then why do you guys even do it? Just buy it for pisslow prices?
Bots are better than humans at modern captchas anyway
