Mirage Raceway vs Nethergarde Keep PvE population

I was curious what the population on both Horde and Alliance side of Mirage Raceway and Nethergarde Keep realms was so I did a quick research. Why those two realms? Well they have decent population and the it’s population ratio is not bad. I gathered the data on September 26 between 00.30 and 1.00 am. I randomly chose few leveling zones and dungeons and focused on low level areas. This was just a quick data gathering by / who command, nothing extensive.

  • Level 20 characters (8)
  • Barrens (46)
  • Wailing Caverns (5)

Alliance side
Number of characters in the brackets (including level 70s)

  • Westfall (24)
  • Deadmines (7)
  • Level 20 characters (10)
  • Duskwood (31)
  • The Stockade (2)

Nethergarde Keep

Number of characters in the brackets (including level 70s)

  • Ghostlands (18)
  • Ragefire Chasm (5)

  • Barrens (32)
  • Wailing Caverns (9)

Alliance side

I could make better and more extensive search but this was meant as a quick glance at the population so I thought why not share it here. It might help someone. Cheers! Edit: I might add more zones and do it in the daytime when there’s more people, but I’ll see about it, no promises for now.

Bad time to be doing stuff like this, Sunday night/Monday morning, try it during the busy times.

And those zones, this is just an attempt to show those realms in a bad light.

That’s true. At that time most of the players are sleeping. But then again it shows that even at 1 am there’s some activity going on. And the few leveling zones were choosen because most of the low level players go through.

‘this is just an attempt to show those realms in a bad light’ it’s not a very good attempt at gathering data (as they stated) but I don’t think their intention was malicious in any way

I would have liked to have seen a level 70 full count.

Edit: I just did a 70s scan on mirage raceway, 754 Alliance, 399 horde

Netherguard Keep, 287 Alliance, 204 Horde at 70

I used the wowclassicpop addon aka censuspluswotlk.

Here, updated just for you. It’s not a full count of level 70s but just some major zones. Data was gathered by /who command between 2.00 and 2.40 am. The realms seem to have some activity at that time. 50+ means the population was over 50 since the default Blizz search engine is limited.
