I feel bad for missing it, I set a reminder on my phone to resub but I was playing other games and just never got around to it… is this what FOMO feels like? I don’t know why it annoys me, I have missed several other anniversaries in my 20 years playing this game

We all got 20 new free mounts!! I particular like the new [Glorious Mammoth Mount], Which allows you to carry other players, work on your professions, repair, and full access to the Auction House!!

To be honest you only missed the opportunity to obtain the updated tier 2 transmog sets, the rest was just to make people have fun and to keep us busy.
The majority of the activities during the event revolved around collecting “20th Anniversary tokens” which was used to primarily purchase the updated tier 2 transmog sets. Sure it was a little bit about experiencing the old bosses and relive old memories as well, such as various world bosses and a 15 man Blackrock Depths raid. In my opinion the Blackrock Depths raid was highly overtuned for heroic if you compared it to the loot it dropped, thus not many people did the raid after a while.
That’s pretty much it.
I were honestly taken by supprise by the whole anniversary event and had not thought about any of this at all and Ive been playing from 2005 vanil. The event came and had nice tmogs but thats about all. I guess it were bigger for blizzard than for me, I just play their game, its fun hobby still. Its fun activity to do some content in the game you enjoy but anything else dont really matter.

I personally liked the Giraffe mount, especially when it lifts you up so you can see your toon over everyone camping on the quest giver.

What you feel is missing out, not the fear of it. You have missed out. What you felt when you added that calendar entry was FOMO.
But either way, it sucks.

The event was really fun! I liked the Chen stories (even if they were repetitive) and Mount Mania! I hope those things come back every year from now on (without the extra 20 years stuff).
It’s a shame you missed it, but it lasted for several months so it was really your decision to skip it…

I once won mount mania. I was the only person doing it.
I really liked the event. I subbed again just for the event. I really liked the ability to kill the 4 drakes that i never had. But ameriss was a drama. Because the typhoon sword has such a low droprate.
And kazzak for the staff. Also got 3 new mounts. The one from sha of anger i really wanted. And the 2 that can also be bought from doomwalker. But i didnt know he can drop mounts. The mammoth i already had since 2010 (i won a raidroll back then)
Sadly my arm hurted too much so i stopped playing from early december. Missed xmass event.
And getting the tier2 sets looked very hard. But after the achievement it got faster. And i also liked the alterac valley pvp event. I had some spare keys left but because i quit i have them still in bank. I would really had the flame spear. Maybe i ever make a ticked for it.
Thankfully the hunter set is (in my opinion) the worst looking tier 2 set of all of them so I’m not bothered about that. I guess I felt some kind of OCD about not getting that 20th anniversary feat of strength when I resubbed the other day, but then I have missed other events in the past 20 years but been there for some really cool ones like the TBC Dark Portal event. You win some, you lose some I suppose and it’s just a game at the end of the day

lol I still remember all the congratulations I got from the other three contestants when the last mount she wanted was Invincible.
And there’s me on my lonesome on invincible…

Hey, you never know if some events might come back this year. And also some rewards are suggested to come back every 5 years which is always nice for those that did miss out.

I thought the 20th anniversary was underwhelming, but the updated Tier Set appearances were nice at least.

Exactly hah!! I bought literally every set except the hunter one, then I thought to myself, I might as well pick up the last transmog set as well, safe to say I am still never gonna use it. 
What nobody really mentions is the 20th anniversary gave a chance to collect older anniversary mounts and pets, and I didn’t have most of them. Maybe this anniversary’s rewards will be available again during the 25th or 30th anniversary. I know it’s quite a few uears from now, and I’m not personally a fan of FOMO content, but there’s nothing I can do about it.
I’m still kind of sore about missing the HotS promotion mount. I was even actively playing HotS at the time, but it required playing with ingame “friends” and I really wasn’t in a place that allowed me to do it.
