once again we find blizzard slacking in the bug fixing dept, in this saterdays dragon races for gold we see 4 races listed as rewarding a purse with some gold as a reward but two races dont give the purse of gold , this has been happening twice weekly for the last 4 months even though the race discription for all 4 races say a gold containing purse will be part of the reward , clearly a fiddle on blizzards part as we all know in the second year of an expansion players gold making prospects are reduced by a third to 50% this has been the blizzard way for years , and it no wonder to me that the end of wow is fast approaching when they take the full sub and still make a crappy game . other games take up more of my time now as i loose faith in this shower who still squeeze wow till it squeeks to try and take more out than they put in to this once beautifull game .
When you fly into the zone the gold bag-reward changes to dreamsurge currency.
its one big con , they can stick the coalescense where the sun dont shine and give me my gold they are nothing but con merchants these days
Or you can check which zone the dream surge is in and know that not all races will offer gold? (and skip said races when youâre in the zone, the icon of the bag changes)
As others have said it effects the races in the zone where the Dream Surge is. The tooltips always show the purse, that is until you get into the zone and they then change to coalescense currency. (and itâs not just the race or gold quests).
I have noticed though that other world quests the offer gold seem to now offer a higher amount than they used to. Perhaps this was to offeset the loss of the purses, who knows. But i donât realy notice any difference in the amount of gold overall i get each week from WQâs.
As for the bug, itâs not that they donât reward gold as thatâs intended, itâs that the tooltips are incorrect until you enter the zone.
it is not the coalescense area at fault it is a bug because some weeks you get the gold from 4 , or 3 , or 2 , and every week 2 are in the coalescence area , if it says there is a gold purse in blue it should give the gold , plain and simple this game is poorly coded and has too many cost cutting things for it to ever work properly again.
Thereâs also another similar bug related to dragon races - for the last couple of months, there are never any active dragon race world quests in Thaldraszus.

Yeah, you need to keep tabs of those rewarding Dreamsurge Coalescence and skip those races in the zone with Dreamsurge. 
Itâs the world map that is bugged and has been for a very long time. When your not in the zone for the Dream Surge and looking at WQâs it shows you the original rewards, not taking into account the Surge is in the that zone.
Thereâs many instances of this bug with the map, where things donât show correctly unless your in the actual zone. The Siege of Dragon Bane keep never shows the correct time or a time at all, same for other similar style events, even the new Big Big event. The camp in the plains often doesnât show up or has no timer etc unless your in the plains, the Emerald Dream often doesnât even show any quests or some are missing on the map, unless your in the zone⌠and so on.

Itâs intented. You have 4 races in 4 zones. The zone with the active event has 2 races, so they removed one from thaldrazsus.
Regarding the gold reward, it always changes when you go into that map. Never ever it said it will give gold in that zone and it didnât. And I do them on 8 characters, as itâs my main source of gold. So guess Iâll know if that happened.
If that was the case, shouldnât there be 2 races in Thaldraszus when the Dreamsurge is active in the zone?
Because Iâm pretty sure there havenât been any dragon racing during the Dreamsurge in ThaldraszusâŚ
Are there dragon races quests in Thaldraszus anymore? They used to be, now has been months since I saw one.
i do the races with 36 chars so i think i know how they work and the fact is sometimes the races give 4 purses of gold sometimes 3 and some times 2 so i think somebody in blizzard is influencing how much you get or it is bugged .
todays races on 31/01/24 have 4 purses and i am pleased to say they all give gold as intended , i have done them on 21 chars and all good , nice to see my tickets to blizzard seems to have got them to fix the bugs . now i wait to see if we get 4 more raceâs on saterday next that work .
yay, 4 more races that drop gold , great finaly fixed .
