There is an issue with Need and maybe Greed rolls. I play with a group of friends and recently we started to notice that sometimes when you select Need you don’t roll at all. At first we thought that it was just ui bug and you still rolled and it just didn’t show on chat. But yesterday I selected Need and my friend selected Need too, she rolled 2 and won, of course my roll didn’t show up so either I rolled 1 and it didn’t show up or the issue is more serious and the rolls don’t happen at all. I have seen similar complain on us forum from a month ago, so I wanted to ask you guys if you have noticed it too or is it just some odd bug that’s rarely happen and we just happen to see it few times?

Probably a main spec/off spec thing. Your friend needs to choose the right loot spec, or else it’ll be the default which is the spec he’s playing. So if your friend choose need on what is an item not meant for your friend’s loot spec, while there’s another who also selects need but have their loot spec set to what the item is meant for, then only the “main spec” need roll will be shown, because it takes priority over those who selected need for their “off-spec”.
The chosen loot specialization, which you can see and choose in the dropdown menu when right-clicking your character’s frame, is what counts as “main spec” even if not playing as that spec.

It isn’t like I am Needing healers items as tank. I am destro warlock and I was Needing gloves that were very good upgrade for me, like higher ilvl, much more Int and subs weren’t that useless.
Did they have spirit on them?
I don’t remember but my friend wasn’t healer, priest dps. Maybe she has healer drop specializaton selected, but I doubt it since she doesn’t play as a healer. And she got 2 items for free as I wasn’t rolling and later she won few more when I was rolling. Maybe you are right, I will pay more attention and maybe comment again later.
