It will never be boring to me.
One of the reasons night elves have gone down the toilet, is because night elf fans like me stayed quiet, and positive, it took 15 years for me to say enough is enough, why am I spending so much time on this game when my favourite race, the best original rendition of elves in any fantasy - is been literally neglected and ruined and nothing is ever happening.
I looked at former forum posts - tons of topics on Jaina, Anduin, Thrall, Sylvanas, the Iron horde, on Lor’themar, the blood elves, Silvermoon - and the night elf topics were few and far between.
Most of us were content to wait, our turn will come, it never did, until legion - where they gave us great hope, then half way through forgot about us, then spat on us by taking Suramar and all the nightborne over to the horde, when they full well know they could have done playable horde night elves with a group of exiled nightborne rather than our one pristine pre-sundering city.
To make matters worth, they nuked us in War of thorns - and while this is not hte same as the nightborne thing because it is a story, and stories can change - the fact that ALL the forums were talking about was how they didn’t like the horde being evil, and blizzard was only giving responses on how they were going to make the horde more appealing and Sylvanas more complex - i was just wow.
We’ve been too quiet… you mean they are willing to forget about the very night elves who they massacred because all the fans can think of is the horde and how they don’t like it being so evil - what about the freaking night elves? Who have been nerfed into oblivion, and genocided twice in the story with no highs to show for it.
It’s time people start talking about night elves, and i would say, go to the general forum, don’t just stay on the story boards.
Night elves are an amazing race, but wow players have seen the worse and the rubbish side of the awesome race that was in WC3 and in the novels like WotA, and the manual of the games.
Those night elves need to return - arcane power wielded like the legendary pre-sundering times (and certainly not reserved for the horde night elves over the main night elf group - the insult - especially when people like Tanaria/minairia come on with crap like night elves don’t use the arcane b/s ) Nature power with world tree, emerald dream, and wonders , druids that are calling down the stars, the moon and sun, and savagely ferocious in animal forms - the first time I ever saw a druid look dangerous in wow was in Legion Val’sharah quest, the cat druid - i’m like i have seen enough of the peaceful side of the druids, lets see some aggression, some damage, and some star/moon stuff. Not to mention the priesthood, where we have to go back to WC3 to see Starfall being used by a priest of Elune, and the echo of Tyrande in AU End times dungeon in cata to see her do anything remotely magical.
The deficit in night elf portrayal is staggering. Legion started something, but by itself, it is not enough, the horde has been hugging the limelight, the humans hugging the limelight, the best assets have been funelled to them - and i drew the line at Suramar - that Suramar, where ALL the kaldorei heroes come from, where the rebellion agianst Queen Azshara marches out from and wins. That Suramar returns and because it is fancy, they’d rather give it to the horde - there is no excuse - none whatsoever, you can’t say because blood elves are more arcane b/s nonsense, they made the kaldorei ally with their highborne, the nightborne led by Thalyssra had more courage and nobility and did less damage and also learnt humility.
Nah, if fans don’t show how they feel, if we bottle it up inside, saying to ourselves, oh, give them time, it will change… it won’t.
They’ll just keep on writing more interesting roles for Sylvanas, and the horde, giving them more amazing things, taking the legacy of all the alliance races, and porting them over. Porting all their favourite former heroes, their lore things that were on the races that they put in the alliance, because it is their fave faction.
They will give the alliance 2nd rate stuff, notice this, the humans will get the lionshare of the alliance stuff, but it won’t be nearly as good as the horde - this has been going on since TBC - i mean, how long do you want us to sit down and get second best to the horde every time, and at the same times get our races shafted - in particular the night elves - night elves were shafted and all they were talking about was making Sylvanas more complex? .
Night elves were amazing, and it’s time others get refreshing powerful race come to the forefront that was shoved to the back.
We care about night elves so we are going to make some noise about.
