With the phone app you can access all mission tables from WoD to SL (except WoD ships).
I realised how awful the system is from BfA on out.
In BfA you have missions where you’re capped at 100% and to get the bonus 200%, you must add a troop to counter, however if you add troops, your % gets brought by 100% aswell, so it doesn’t matter if you counter it or not, you’re still EFFED regardless.
Oh and did I tell you these troops are randomized?
Now with Shadowlands I thought it was an improvement, but instead its as dull and difficult made as ever.
I really like the choices you have in WoD and Legion.
Sadly Legion is the only useful, WoD has some use, but Legion requires a ton of order hall currencies where you need to farm them ingame.
Oh yeah, you have reputation gain from BfA, but compared to Legion where you can get 1500 rep from mission tables, you get a measly 100 to 150 rep lol
I don’t even know what the point of them are in Shadowlands
im sick and tired of table tbh, id much rather the missions led to scenarios that you could accompany your pets on and there was far fewer missions to be had.
Personally I quite like this iteration of the mission table. No more worrying about getting the right percentage, just make sure your numbers beat theirs and it’s usually good to go. I also quite like the fact that I don’t have to remember to train up the cannon fodder either.
Not gona lie, all I ever did with this mission table was press tank dmg dmg ranged healer for gold quests and not look at much else. Assume the majority does the same, so, in that respect it’s sort of pointless ‘content’
Edit: I had the app, just not used it since legion maybe. More gold when I remember to use the app
I just use it for gold quests every now and then when I log in. The table at this point is neither here nor there since you no longer really “need” it for anything. It was bad when it was required, like in WOD/Legion.
I hate the mission table in Shadowlands and it’s the first time I’ve had to have an addon to even operate it.
The disparity between covenants is also horrendous. I was Venthyr and it was hard work to get missions to succeed, meanwhile my friend was Necro and they sailed through all of theirs.
Ancelyn looks at his over 1m gold / month income from mission tables.
Yeah, no point whatsoever.
On top of that, it provides plenty of materials, is self-sustaining, requiring little effort. The rep missions aren’t bad either, if you have the spare anima, and a farmer who’s collecting Paragon anyway. ~40 rep missions gets you a chest, not fantastic, but not useless either.
Thankfully, it’s also completely optional, so if you don’t like it, you can just ignore it, while the rest of us reap its benefits.
It’s pretty much like WoD all over again, I suppose (I haven’t played WoD).
Fae. For Fae, the troops carry the mission, so the trick to tabling is to get your farmer to renown 76 (last renown follower unlocks at 71, last XP token at 76), unlock your first soulbind, Niya, level her to 60 ASAP (with the boost-to-30 token, the renown XP tokens, any other tokens you may funnel into the alt, and then XP missions). Level her to 60 before unlocking any of the other followers. Once she’s 60, and the troops are too, the troops will not delevel when you unlock a new follower. Thus, you can have 10+ followers and level 60 troops. Since for Fae, troops win the mission, rather than followers, that means you can send pretty much any level 1 follower + 4 60 troops on almost any mission, and win.
Once that’s set up, level your table campaign to level 16, that’s where the BoA XP tokens unlock. Stay there, farm gold, anima, XP, and funnel those items into the next farmer alt.
