What happens to your missions when you change covenant? Do they get cancelled or do they continue to run in the background?

Your current running missions are cancelled. You don’t lose your followers; if you change your covenant back, they will still be there.

Also when you swap back to the previous covenant you will have new missions.

It would be nice if Blizzard lets them continue to run and when I return to the previous covenant, I can just finish them and dont lose resources!

That was fixed. In the very least for certain missions like the stitch parts rewards mission.

It would be abused for gold missions.
Blizzard doesn’t care about gold sellers. Look at the boosts in LFG !
I never mentioned gold sellers…
Lets say for example you can net 1k gold on a mission table per day from gold missions, giving you access to all four is going to end up with you being able to get 4k gold per day. This will artificially increase the amount of gold generated in game which is not something that Blizzard wants to happen, its probably one of the reasons why Blizzard has stated that there were no plans to add a mission table to Dragonflight because historically they’ve had the unintended symptom of being used as passive gold making systems in game.
unless they’ve changed something right now you can still do it. I was doin it earlier this week.
