I am writing this post both as a question to everyone and also a suggestion regarding the MissionTable.
So far, I have been using some MissionTable addons to change the View of the mission table to give me a better overview of rewards and mission in a cleaner way. The addon is called VenturePlan.
The main benefit is that instead of having a very long list with all the Followers, you have them grouped up in a small window, ordered by level without having to scroll up and down to find what you need.
Unfortunately, when I obtained my last follower 2-3 weeks ago, it seems that the addon can’t handle so many followers and it reverted back to a long list where you have to scroll up and down. The followers aren’t even ordered by level if you stop all addons.
So my question here is, whether someone is aware of an addon or weakaura that will group up the followers in a better way? Also, with so many followers being introduced, I hope Blizzard will be able to change the interface because having that many followers in a long list is a bit annoying. If anyone is not sure what I am talking about, check up the VenturePlan addon on a character with less Followers.
Yes, this is the addon I am referring to. The problem is that the followers are in a list. Previously when we had less followers, it was displayed like this (1:30 of video):
This is much better and I hope blizzard can make this the default view, because I don’t think VenturePlan is going to receive any updates soon
I find that the 9.1 missions have a high failure rate with Venture Plan; but if you pair it with Covenant Mission Helper, the latter can generally spot the impending fail and help avoid it.
(Tbh, some of my high failure rate is probably because Kyrians’ weak followers/troops make for a low margin for error! If the maths is out by 10%, that’s more than the health I was going to come home with and flips it from win to loss.)
I use covenant mission helper myself, I believe the makers of VenturePlan actually stopped and someone else took over. Not sure if that affected the addon in any way.
I have 4 Kyrian toons I play the mission table with, three of them have 100% success rate so far, because I keep the table campaign progress well below the level of my followers & troops. I only do the campaign mission if VP tells me that my weakest follower can solo it with at most 3 troops, and isn’t anywhere near dying. (Mind you, I do this with every covenant, not just Kyrian, because the difference in rewards isn’t all that big. +50g / mission isn’t worth the trouble of spending more time assembling a mission party.)
The 3rd Kyrian… I made the mistake of progressing the campaign too early, so I have to be careful with the missions. Still 80% success rate, though, with most failures coming from the new missions that reward companion XP tokens.
Yeah, Kyrian followers and troops are pretty bad compared to other covenants, but they ain’t terrible, and can be worked around.
VenturePlan isn’t developed further, and noone took it over, either, the original author, and the license of it, does not permit that. Someone tried to take it over before, but didn’t talk to the original author, and was asked to cease doing so.
With the above linked change, it works good enough still, though.
My Kyrian is my main, and I think I pushed the table harder than many, so advice about hanging back came long after I had completed the campaign
Some of them aren’t bad. Pelagos and Kleia are decent. Mikanikos is very strong, but because of this, he bottlenecks me a lot. ELGU-07 (new in 9.1) is a major damage dealer and I’ve got him to 58 now, so he’s just beginning to help out properly. Most of the rest make me regret the time invested in levelling them however, because they are only just barely stronger than troops
But mostly my annoyance comes from, say, a level 50 mission, a level 50 follower, and 4x level 60 troops, not being able to do the mission. 5x level 50 followers might also fail. I have to keep boosting the low guys with a strong 60 over and over again. Even at 60, the problem repeats, where I usually need 4-5 followers for any mission, because the troops are made of paper. This massively limits the missions I can run in parallel and bottlenecks the whole thing.
Meanwhile Night Fae; 4x troops, level 30 follower, beats a level 50 mission. All 3 of my alts have gone NF purely for the resource farming this is allowing them to do
I do exactly the same, I use VenturePlan in combination with Covenant Mission Helper. I use VenturePlan just because the interface is fantastic, but the addon indeed has some miscalculations.
To be fair, it only gets things wrong when it hasn’t seen those missions/followers before. All the abilities seem to be hard coded, so it can’t go beyond the point where development stopped.
Be nice if Blizz could make a table API so addons could read it ¬_¬
