I opened mission table today and its full of L48 missions while my companions are all between L1-L30+ so there is zero missions I can actually win including one xp bonus L34, too difficult rare mission. So what’s happened ? Thanks to Icy-veins article now I know what’s wrong because Blizzard devs forgot to explain us how mission level system works.Unlike in the past, level of missions doesn’t depend of companions level but it is increasing after completing specific Adventure Campaign Progress missions : 4, 8, 12 and 16.It means that after I completed ACP mission 12, I was moved to L48 mission difficulty tier (without any warning). My main char is Venthyr and their companions are much weaker than Necrolords or Night Fae companions, so now I’m stuck, I can’t normally level my companions via winning missions.Only way to progres is to spend next weeks or months by doing and losing too difficult missions, it’s still possible to get xp but it’s frustrating and expensive way as price for one mission is about 50 anima, it takes usually 10+ hours while healing of companions is insane expensive and thus impossible.
So my only advice could be, stop doing ACP missions at 7, 11 and 15 until your companions are leveled to 24, 36 and 48.
Unless they revamp the mission tables entirely, there’s no point to get the table, unless you are Night Fae.
The mission table pretty much pays my sub. It’s great.
What? The gold off it is pathetic.
~280g / mission, twice a day, on 10 toons. That’s almost 170k gold over the course of a month, which is enough for a token. Since I have a few Night Faes too, they need even less gold missions, because they’re at ~400g / mission by now.
You just need a horde of alts. Most of them, I don’t even need to log, only once a week to deposit anima (because they do anima missions only apart from the gold ones, so after an initial stocking up, I never run out of anima either, and it even keeps increasing week to week).
This is actually fantastic lol, although I don’t have nearly enough alts
But nice job
All that effort is poor time investment when you can get gold in many alternate ways in an incredible fraction of the time.
Grand if you’re an altaholic, I suppose, of which I ain’t.
Even with less alts, it’s still a substantial amount of gold. Factor in callings, and it’s still a heavy contribution to your sub fund. And if you plan ahead and make the mission table alts night fae, you can get away with ~5 alts. I didn’t plan ahead that much, and cba switching covenants on the alts, so I’m stuck with a bunch of necrolords and venthyr ones.
Nothing really prevents you to get gold in other ways if you do this
If a person enjoys having many alts it’s not a poor time investment
It took me about a week to get all those alts to 60, and stock up on the initial anima, and now my sub is paid 'till the end of Shadowlands, unless the token price increases substantially. Since I have a number of Faes, I even have leftover gold, usually 10-20k a week from literally doing nothing.
Of those 10 toons, 8 of them I only log to deposit anima once a week, that’s about 5 minutes a week total. The other two toons I play anyway.
I think this is pretty darn good time investment: a week to level, 5 minutes / week, and then free sub forever. I did most of the leveling when M+ wasn’t even open, so I didn’t miss out on much on my mains either. I can do the missions from the phone, while on the taxi towards an M+ on my main.
well, it’s unbalanced but still playable and I like new concept.
But players should be clearly warned that after completing Adventure Campaign Progress missions no. 4, 8,12 and 16 the max level of all missions will go up by whole 12 levels suddenly…
People are all different but I despise this variation of the mission table. I have a WA which gives me a rough idea of whether or not a mission will succeed or fail, I tried using venture plan but I didn’t find it very helpful and it made my WA not appear.
I would love a mission table manager type thing that just shoves in viable groups but that doesn’t seem to be possible. Previous expansions did have them.
yes, I use Venture plan too, it’s great addon. But it doesn’t help me now if all my mission are impossible to complete because no one warned be that after completing ACP #12 I wont be able to complete any mission with my L1-30 companions squad…
I’ve reached a point where I can’t even complete adventure missions I am outlevelling.
Venthyr, so I recently unlocked General Draven which seems to have a usable ability (prevent 20% of damage taken to the entire team), but I still have a week or two of spamming XP-missions before I can use him for anything.
What? How?
I’m Kyrian and I stopped dealing with mission board as it is extremely unrewarding and an obviously underdeveloped, untested activity.
After the few weeks of initial suffering and few weeks of disadvantage regarding the Soul Ash missions, I could overcome, and outlevel quests (by 10+ level), allowing me to have few weeks of success. Then it became strange again for two reasons. (My soldiers are lvl 36)
1.) The XP-rewarding quests are gone, rarely getting them.
2.) Quests seem to be super difficult again. The lowest level I’m getting are 24, they are either super easy, or decent difficulty. Also having lvl 36 ones, which seem to be very tough.
I guess because I did a campaign that made a huge step up, instead of a baby-step progression as it should have been.
Rewards are meh, item rewards are extremely irrelevant. Anima rewards are less than a world quest. Gold reward is marginal. They wanted to make a current version of the mission board without much thinking, re-using the concept of previous expansions. I like the idea of auto chess but the implementation is very poor. Just an increased effort requirement from users for the same or less reward as before with board missions.
This is my current table campaign mission.
But i’m never gonna complete it tbh, after all these “Table trap” threads, i’m gonna stick to only doing XP missions to level up companions.
if I understand it correctly then you can do ACP missions until you reach “checkpoints” : (4), 8, 12 and 16.These are missions which move difficulty up by 12 levels. So if you are at ie 5, you can advance it to 7 and stop there until you are ready for level 36 missions (opened by ACP 8).
I certainly don’t understand it correctly, so i’m just not gonna do it, too afraid to mess up.
Currently my XP missions give at most 1500 xp if that gives you any context of where i am in the campaign
this is how it probably works, completing
ACP 4 opens L24
ACP 8 opens L36
ACP 12 opens L48
ACP 16 opens L60 missions.
But true, stay where you are until you are ready.I wish Blizzard give me a way to move back …
