Hi guys, so my companions are about lvl 35 now and the leveling has become very slow. The whole time I have been getting useless rewards and it seems like the game is designed in a way that you always get the reward level which is no longer relevant to you… so finally my first epic missions became available but I can only get 184 ilvl reward from the mission (which I am not sure if it is even doable as a Kyrian, but that is a different topic). The issue is that obviously at this point I could not care less about such item and I consider myself being a casual player who is running around M+ 6 tops while most people seem to be running around M+ 10 these days (based on the group finder) so these people are even much better geared…
So I am just wondering if this gets any better at some point? I don´t expect I can get fully geared just from missions, but if I know it is just not possible to get anything useful from missions even in end-game, I will just stop bothering with it completely… I was sending my companions only to XP missions and anima missions, the rest seem to be useless anyways as gold isn´t really an issue these days. I did some soul ash missions but then I realized we can only use one legendary item so I don´t really need ash anymore… Torghast provides more then enough…
So anyone with high level companions that could share their experience?
The other issue with mission table is that it drains so much anima. I just checked that yesterday evening I had over 10000 anima and today after sending out my companions I had like 9300 anima. Sending them out for lacking rewards pretty much drains your anima storage hardcore.
So far had pet/mount/gold/anima/exp/bags/fish/ore/swords/trinkets/rings/armor/etc. The level ranges from lvl 58 below quest wise. The gear has been 158 to 196. Overall the quests can be compelted by lower level followers but the combo must just right or you fail. So far 12 followers lower lvl is 14 at present, highest lvl 35.
The mission table is very good imo, it generates some nice passive anima, and the crafting material missions + augment rune missions generate some nice passive income. As for the gear and the pets it’s whatever, could do without it.
This is pretty much why I only do Anima and XP missions… so I keep earning it instead of spending it on items I do not need. And I am lazy to do world quests to earn some. On the other hand anima seems to be useless (upgrading sanctum does not seem to be granting anything useful either) so spending it on missions would not bother me that much…
196 ilvl gear with 35 lvl companion? It looks like I will need to progress more in my campaign. The last campaign mission was around my lvl (36 I think?) but the current one jumped to lvl 48 which I don´think I till be able to complete with my lvl 35 companions. I guess you are not Kyrian right:-)
You get more in Torghast and via completing Covenant campaign. And you recruit some during ordinary quests (I had to google those as I skipped quest during my leveling so I accidentally avoided recruiting those during leveling).
Honestly I think this devalues professions … I am not really sure why I should be getting all those crafting materials if I do not have that profession. The same for my covenant soulbind ability that gives me a chance to get materials after killing a mob… I have a full bag of enchanting materials without being enchanter… do they want to kill professions or what? These items will be worthless soon…
I suppose it depends on what you consider useful. On my main (and ‘main alts’) I’m levelling companions to do the campaign missions for pets and (eventually) mounts. On other alts, I’m just getting anima to do more missions and then doing gold missions and enchanting cache missions (can never have too many eternal crystals!). I don’t bother with the soul ash ones - they take too long, have too high a chance of failure and it would be easier to do Torghast.
As for gear, I don’t really think missions will be rewarding decent enough gear to make it a better source than WQs or non + dungeons. Maybe at way higher levels, but on the alts who’d need the gear, I’m not going to level champions to those high levels for a very long time.
Anima missions are <3.
Enchanting missions are <3. (Made quite a bit of gold on them when crystals sold for 5k+ each, and I had a horde of alts farming enchanting missions; now they’re a steady supply of crystals for my own use)
Gold missions are nice, with a horde of alts, doing 1-2 of those a day pays for my sub, and I don’t even need to log the alts.
Everything else isn’t worth it for me, but those three are nice.
I stocked them up on ~1k-1.5k anima after leveling them. Since then, they do anima and gold missions only. The anima missions keep them stocked up on anima, the gold missions contribute to my sub. I didn’t have to leave the sanctum on them yet.
If I ever run out of anima on them, I’ll do the weekly two dungeons, a world boss, and maybe a 250 anima WQ. Since all of them are either healers or tanks, all over 160 ilevel (thanks AH), my queues and runs will be short and sweet.
I have recently progressed my table campaign to getting lv 35-39 missions. Missions of interest that I am now getting:
Missions awarding 50-60 anime at a 10-14 anime investment, making for a significant source of anime throughout the week.
Missions awarding 4ish augment Runes, going for 800-900g each where I live.
Bags of meat or fish, containing 6-9 of each kind of meat/fish. Easily keeps me stocked for making buff food and the prices of some meat and fish are still high enough for these to be a not insignificant source of gold.
10-20 pet charm missions, which I use to buy rep or covenant gated pets and list them on the AH. Made around 40k gold from those so far and I still have a bunch listed.
Spirits for the Night Fae garden feature, which ultimately result in more crafting materials.
Gold missions awarding 350ish gold at a 10-14 anime investment. Amusingly, these are actually the weakest gold-per-anime-spent, but if I have companions left over after sending all the other missions I do these too, the gold adds up and I have built up my anime reservoir enough for the anime cost to not matter much.
So, bottom line… For me, it’s extremely worth it to check the mission table at every opportunity. But goldmaking is quite high on the list of my wow activities and goals. If you do endgame pbe or pvp and only care about gear and nothing else, then yeah, the gear you get from the table is worthless by the time you can get it, but that’s the same with World Quest gear.
I find the command table to be “something extra” but that’s about it.
I do adventures for XP, anima, pet charms and once in a while I will try the adventure campaign. I am venthyr, so even when outlevelling the adventure by 5-6 levels, the failure-rate is so high that I rarely bother with them.
The anima is ok though. Depending on how many troops I use, at the level-range I am at (16-29) I get about 20-30 anima in return from what I’ve spent.
Mission table is useless, they providing nothing.
Soul ash is useless aswell when you are stucked at some point with legendary.
So basiclly after 2 months of doing everyrhing you find urself in position to unsub beacuse i guess thats it for now. I guess item lvl is the only high end term of end game.
