Think the whole group has to go past them and after they do that you feign death to lose aggro, don’t know.
I tryed that but that group still got agroed. I mean if i get agro passing mob doesn’t everyone else does too and feign drop agro only of me?
My verdict: Just kill the damn pack. It’s going to take less time than engineering your way around it.
That’s what i was thinking as well but supposedly it messes up pride timing.
Simply had 2 keys in mists depleted because of that pack and that skip. It does seems to work tho with priest soothe or DH imprison on top of monk circle.
How so? If it spawns the Pride “early”, that just means you’ll have it for the two big mobs before the boss, instead of the boss himself, and that’s still a huge bonus.
I guess it’d depend on other affixes though, last week on Fortified+Greivous those two were absolutely horrid.
Yep and this week it’s Tyranical so i think having pride on boss will be important. That’s why i was kinda wondering if there is hunters who does that skip know how exatcly it works. I rather be prepared then say tank just kill that pack.
You need to trap it, then you go first and get agro, you let everyone else pass, and then FD, should do it, worked everytime for us when we didn’t have a DH …
You can also Monk sap in into ROP, also works, monk needs to be careful tho that he doesn’t agro before sapping, monk sap is quite short range.
The reason why some CC’s make it harder/easier is that not all CC’s are equal.
For example, DH imprison, makes it so that even if you run through the CC’ed mob, you won’t get agro.
Where rogue Blind for example still makes you go into combat if you’re to close to the mob.
That is why if you have the second kind of CC, it’s important that you run through and get the agro first, that way the mob will be focused on you when your teammates run through just like in open world, and then you drop combat.
Having Pride on boss makes it so that you can one phase him even on tyranical. Saving way more time. Prides in general are in fact not time savers in any way, unless it allows you to skip something big, like a whole other boss phase. That is why you see people skipping them ones you get into higher keys.
The buff you get from pride it to small to be worth unless you get something big out of it. So if you have to kill a pride, make it count by having a big 3-4 pack pull ect.
I see will try it next time i get mists. Do people actualy skip pride in pugs too? Haven’t seen it so far only in MDI. I mean only full NE party seems to be able to do it.
At the keys levels you’re doing, no, they’re not So you dont have to worry about that yet. But ones you get into the 17-19 area, you will start to see some groups starting to try it, because at that point prides are starting to become so scary that you really dont wanna fight them anymore.
But you will start to notice, especially mists, that people want to skip some trash after 2nd boss to make sure you hit 80% trash count at the last boss, this allows you to skip the last pride atleast, which is roughly 1-1½min saved.
And you use invis pots to skip them, it takes a moment for prides to get into combat, giving you time to invis pot them
Wich is also problem with pugs seems people don’t carry any invis pots around. Had SoA yesterday and coouldn’t do pack on top of stairs skip before 3rd boss because 3 people didn’t have invis pots.
You put freezing trap → You are in combat with that mob.
You group pass near the mob → They are in combat with that mob.
You feign death and lose combat → They are still in combat.
So best way, pull the group to the left side to give your group enough space to pass without getting in combat. Go left, use aspect of the turtle to avoid dying, your group goes right, pass the trash pack then feign death.
This is something the group need to discuss before starting the run. It’s easy to go to the Auction house, buy some potions and get summoned back. Make sure you ask the tank if he plans a skip that requires invis, and make sure everyone has potions. Ask those who don’t have potions to go buy, and get summoned.
On that matter, it’s always a good idea to carry invis potions in your bags at all times just in case.
Shadowmeld to skip pride was nerfed after first MDI cup. Now they use invis pots to do it.
Each one of those mobs does their big AOE at 50% health. So don’t DPS them at the same time otherwise they cast their AOE together and it’s almost impossible to heal. So mark one with skull and focus it. You can also pull them in the mushroom room because clicking a mushroom heals you to full, makes it easier for the healer.
Do that and they won’t be horrid.
Pulling them into the mushroom room, while skipping the previous pack? I’d actually pay money to see that.
And you know, I heal, I don’t DPS or mark.
No, you don’t skip the pack in front of the mushroom room. No one skips that. The pack you skip is the pack before that. The one that contains one of those big mobs. So typical route for Mists is as follows:
You can mark. And you can tell them in chat. It will make your life easier.
So I’ve done a couple of freezing traps skips, but not this one in particular. Here’s how it generally would work:
Freezing trap the “in-range” mob.
Camouflage and stand on it - you should enter combat.
Your group passes by - they should not enter combat.
You move on & feign death.
As I said, I haven’t done this skip in particular because there are so many classes that can let you skip it easier - DH, Rogue, Monk and even Warlock.
