Mistweaver caster spec has to be the worst pvp healer ever

Im trying it out now. Haven’t played it in a week or so. But I basically need to channel soothing mist to get any meaningful heals off. So if 1 rogue is sitting on me he can effectively stop all my heals. Lol. Wth is this meme spec? :smiley:

It’s a funny spec that blizzard cannot balance properly. Each time they underperform they just buff healing throughout, which almost every expansion is anyway the highest.

So the spec in some cases is completely broken, and an in some garbage. That’s a bad design if you ask me.

Like for instance I just hate when as a priest, in solo shuffle I have 4xmelee and caster MW, AND melee just pve in the middle entire game. Zero way to outplay MW at that point and guy just stands and pumps 50k HPS. However, then there are some rounds when everyone decides to focus MW, and I get easy 6-0.

Back to the topic. Against one rogue, you should be fine. Take pvp talent to port out of stun, and rogue will never kill you. Try to fake cast his kick, but even without that you have so much cc and mobility, that you can easily deal with one guy. It’s two guys when the problem starts :smiley:

On MW it’s super crucial to stay max range, close to the pillar.

And the hardest element to master for beginners is watching where your port is, and making sure you are in range.

I used to play a low of MW in SL, and I swear that almost every game I lost, I was out of range to teleport:D

It just gets some practice. Especially as you come from the most immobile spec. But if you write down, all your mobility, cc spells (plus some like zen focus yea), you will see how many options you have. 1 player should never be enough to stop you, even rogue.

That was always abused in 2s, were MWs used to be immortal. You need two guys to stop him.

Ye, I can kite to rogue for a long time. Its not rogue killing me thats the problem. Its him stopping all heals.

But to be fair… Im 3 times worse on mw than on disc, and Im not very good on disc either lol. And every lobby is at least 1 rogue and 1 warr. And all they do every single game is just sit on me. Last game was 1 feral 1 mage and 2 warrs. 0-6. Just forget about it lol.

I am soo bad on the mw. I started learning it in SS, same as disc, but Ive done it way less, and since its not as powerful a class atm, it takes me longer to get the hang of it.

There is no point in playing MW atm. It’s a bad spec for PvP, and less fun compared to Evoker or disc. Rather play something else.

Mistweaver caster spec is centered around fake casting. It’s not an easy spec, but you get fairly well rewarded if you master the art of faking interrupts. I remember playing it to 2400 on this alt into all the Disc priests, u ring their dome, they can never reach you to fear you and you just outheal him by a large margin, game goes long enough > disc loses.

But it is true that one kick equals game over. It’s been like that for a while.

Played my MW to 2.4 as well, never played a SS after that. The spec needs a massive redesign if this spiky damage meta is here to stay. Healing of MW can be strong, but it doesn’t matter if the healer just isn’t fun to play.

I am far away from 2.4 but why would you pic doom vs a MW and try too fear him, i try too sit max range and spam damage if my team not ignore the MW crossing the map too land CC on me i never goes lower then 3-3 against MW

For me Dome is overrated people walk out on it ignoring it or getting knockt or grip away, it take one Talent point and a PvP Talent slot too make it absorb, it have it plays aginst Frost DK but beside that?

Damage got more value in high damp which comes fast and i just need too watch a bit my mana

Wierd i have less problem healing with monk than trying fakecast as resto shaman… Spirit link should have spellrange from OG to SW and ignore LOS. Earthen wall should drag back friendlie targets…

By doom I assume you mean dome?

It is pretty gringe how often people run out of it and die right next to it. Lol

Yeah its not like earthen Totem you can see it clear and the run out, for me no point playing it there are other good Talents in the tree wich gave more value

Im not gonna be the one to give advice, as I have so far only gotten to 1300 on my disc.

But I save my dome for spear, or the shaman totem thing, or I use it on myself. With spear and totem they cant run out of it. Or if a rogue stunlocks. Any time someone is locked down dome is good imo. But if they are free to run around they just run out of it most of the time.

MW were made to kite melee problem is melee have just as good if not better mobility than the mw this expansion

Ye, Im not good enough on mw to kite all those gap closers very well. I can stay ahead of most melee if I just keep moving, but I have to stop and heal too at some point.

And fake casting is also not so easy. If you fake the kick you get the stun. Against 2 melee they can pretty much keep me from casting anything.

Its a skill issue, I think. Others seem to have more success.

its just a badly designed spec that was never meant to be played in pvp outside of comps where u never have to be targeted

And how does it work for you? Because MW should never lose to a disc that tries to PvE him. Your team needs to play around MW’s weaknesses, otherwise when it comes to “turret healing” MW is by far the best healer in the game. Extra damage from disc changes nothing.

Regarding dome - I also sometimes drop it vs monks, but in general this is our strongest CD. 50% AoE reduction that last super long. Might be the best defensive in the game, really. And you can often use two per SS round.

From my experience, starting around 1800, people don’t run away from it. If you make macro to remind them about it in the lobby - it gets even better.

And it totally shuts down CDs like spear, or smoke bomb.

On top of that, it’s also one of the most aggressive talents (yes!), because the reduction of damage is so high, you can actually reverse the pressure, while without it you would be spamming heals.

As far i not clame i got the answer i am atm. Just a 1.8 noob how like too try offmeta talents and not blind follow a guide and think a bit myself

Ip play around buffing my Pananace for damage as much as possible too get a giant shield after that from my 4 set

Every 4 cast of power word solace smite or mindblast, penence is free and have 3 extra bolts i also make Penece shadow scool for extra damage, its more mana efficient then the disc healer how heal with shields more then attoment

So from facing other Disc my healing is a bit lower a view K but my damage is between 15 and 30k DPS, depends hard on how much i need too run or how good i play, still learning

I can drop someone from 70% too 20% on my own and if someone get in the execute face shadowword death GG

So i would say i sometimes win against monks pveing because they have too deal with extra 20k dps and if the let someone drop in the execute range its over, with damage so high this just happens, also dampening is on my side if i not oom so fast as other Disc priest

It can be the higher i climb the harder it gets and it wont stop working because player are better
