Hi! I want to start heal. I want to level mistweaver monk or discipline priest, but I heard a lot of bad things about monk healers. That MW are on the bottom of the healing specs, and similar things. In turn, disco-priest are difficult to play. From all healing specs, those two are most fun for me. But I am affraid that with MW nobody will want to take me on raids and dungeons. But also I am affraid that discipline priest will be too hard for my skill in endgame. Can I ask you for some tips, advices about that specs?
Mistweaver is pretty darn good in M+, up until the 20s at least. And unless you want to get into a top (or a bad) guild, getting into raids will not be a problem either. Mistweaver is, indeed, not the spec you want to stack in raids, but that doesn’t make them so bad that you don’t even want one.
IOW, unless you want to go hardcore, pick whichever you want. Mistweaver is a lot of fun.
I’ve healed only on Shaman (awesome in raids, when majority of a group are melee), Disc and Palladin, now I am healing a bit on this toon and…
Man it’s so much easier in dungeons so far in comparison to the other ones.
Shaman is too punished by hard casts, Paladin can stand it’s groud but I did not enjoy it really. Disc can be cool idea but the pain of not being able to go HAM with your healing CD’s due to your nature of being dependent of dealing dmg to heal made me ditch it too around lv80 (Cata dungeons)…
MW so far is literaly 2x as easy to play with instant casts and being mobile while doing so, with emergency CD’s… It is a lot of fun, who cares if people don’t cosider it meta?
As a first time healer, i wouldn’t start with disc, holy is more suited for that from a priest point of view…
I think mistweaver is even better for a first time healer due to its diverse set of heals.
