How do we (UH dk / resto druid) go about beating a Mw/ x in 2s? They just seems to do way too much healing and are so hard to stick to for dk. It seems no matter how good a cc chain we set up, our positioning, our interupts etc we just cant beat them. The druid is an ex glad from WAY back, and dk is a 2.1k exp player. At around 1700 mmr we beat almost every team with no issue, including mirrors of rdruid dk, or pala dk, shammy dk etc. How ever we can NOT wim against MW / x. At all. Surely it cant just be a l2p issue when we confidently beat every other healer dps combo including direct mirrors? Is it?
Can someone help us out on how to beat this monster?
I play mostly fury/mw in 2s, up to 2.9mmr, so here are my tips:
1/ Druid is certainly feral affinity;
2/ Druid is always trying to restealth, forcing globals/mobility to either go into stops or result in failure to stop the re;
3/ DK only makes monk goes when he has his utility ready, and ideally: after monk wastes some of his mobility (easily happens when MW cranes and druid kites, MW will almost certainly have to roll). Biggest tip is to ALWAYS keep track of where his port is. During cranes, even high-rated monks will push too far away from it and you can punish;
4/ DKs in 8.1 are perfectly capable of endangering fury warriors. Your damage is great, your necrotics are strong, and you’re a scary target for a healer to have to recover from due to your many stops on his healing. Any time MW goes to Africa and you can’t keep up, hit the warrior alongside your feral aff. druid;
5/ Ultimately, you’re waiting for dampening. Sure, monks are good in dampening, but the combination of your damage/healing absorption/combined CC/stops alongside your feral aff druid is enough to land a kill on the warrior. Fury’s heal is severely impacted by dampening, up to a point where it barely does anything. Same for Cocoon.
Drae is exaggerating for a point, and I agree with him wholeheartedly. MWs are waaay over-buffed. I still prefer this meta over the complete retardation that was restosham meta last patch, where even mistake upon a mistake upon a mistake would not even threaten them. MWs actually die if they F up. But DKs are in a really good spot, and rdruids are still very strong in 2v2.
Or, you know, go with a MW or Hpala and just win fury/mw and most other popular 2s comps by default given equal skill :).
Nah, not really. It takes more than a single mistake, and it definitely can’t be a tiny one, if played properly on the whole.
source: all rdruids at high rating 2v2 are feral affinity almost without exception, and non of them just roll over and die despite me dishing out damage to the tune of a retarded 12K. Kek.
An update i ran with a holy paladin yesterday for roughly about 10 games. He has 2.1k exp so decent, not as high as the druid. We won 9 out the 10 games, i went up over 100 rating, and we beat quite a few MWs
So now i think is the problem not the MW but rather resto druid? My druid partner is ex glad so i dont think its a skill issue so much as a class balance issue
Play with a paladin and swap stun monk every 30 secs. Pushed a few kills using melee wings too at around 1900 mmr. The double blessing of freedom will greatly increase your up time too.
Constantly posts about MW’s breaking the game… no matter what ratingpool I see on posts. And I couldn’t possibly agree more. This is going on for weeks now, and not even any hotfix is being done? Blizzard on a winter-holiday?
Both me and the pala competing well below our level. We are at like 1700cr 1800mmr atm but we were around 2.1k when we last played together in mop and wod, which if im lead to believe was harder than it is now? Dunno not played much arena in bfa.
Also the resto druid glad is gonna go moonkin. Moonkin dk healer work? I also have an ele sham at 375 i presume that will work with moonkin. With the pala healer would that be a viable 3s team or still looking for a MW?
Got a few characters (healers and dpses) at 2.3k+ rating (achieved in 8.0) but I dare not touch them anymore until monks get nerfed. Currently just trolling around low ratings, but always in massive disadvantage against monks.
While my disc heals 14k with shadowmend at 370 ilvl, my 310 monk heals 15k - 20k with instant surging mists. Also my monk has pretty much more damage than my disc.
Not sure if I’ve seen a class this gamebreaking in the 5 years ive been playing than the current state of MW
Well i still remember first season MOP bm hunters, where you popped all cds and trinkets in a macro and your pet would solo a healer while you sat and danced behind a pillar. And sl/sl warlock im tbc. And first season wotlk dk. I dunno if MW is as broken as they are but it is certianly up there
Ah yeah I remember that time, but that was because of a bug in Stampede and was fixed fairly quickly. MW isnt bugged, just overbalanced into infinity and beyond
Cute story my MW.was doing 40k heals with way of the crane yesterday. Instant aoe heals. He is level 118. Characters health pools are only about 50k. What a dumb class
Not just way of the crane, surging mists heal 20k - 30k on mu 320 ilvl monk. In legion, crane build was also insane when crane was active, but when it was on cd the class struggled a lot and was vulnerable. That was a great design. Now they’re OP with crane, and still OP without crane
