Greetings.
Ever since WoD’s release, Mistweaver has been my main specialization.
The one I’ve truly learned to master, the one I’ve spent the most time playing, and the one on which I unlocked my first ever elite set – I still carry every single piece of that set in my bags to this day, as a memento.
Over the years, Mistweavers have lost more things than I could list:
Our 2 stances, Chi as an entire ressource system and all the spells and mechanics related to managing it (most notably Chi brew and olschool Mana tea), Nimble brew, the ability to cast Cocoon while stunned, Spear-handed strike, Mistwalk, Pool of mists (which, combined with Chi brew allowed us to perform a small damage burst by using Rising sun kick three times in a row), our class buff (useful dispel protection against mage and shaman comps), Sheilun’s gift…and Touch of death is the only thing we’ll get back in Shadowlands.
Not to mention baseline abilities that were turned into talents (such as Effuse/Surging mist), or worse, PvP talents (Grapple weapon). This was especially true in Legion, where the core Mistweaver gameplay was locked behind a PvP talent called “Ancient Mistweaver Arts”, which made Soothing mist into an active ability again.
I can get over all of those. I definitely enjoyed my Mistweaver a lot less in Legion, after it’s been stripped of so many tools and gameplay elements - but I endured.
Something I’ve not been able to stomach however, is the GCD added to Sooting Mist in BFA. I haven’t touched my Mistweaver in this expansion so far. I completely abandonned my main character because of this one specific, awful addition, and it pains me that Shadowlands hasn’t done away with it.
Ever since Miswteaver was introduced, it was always the most dynamic healer, able to instantly channel healings through Soothing mist and immediately cancel to do other things. It was fast-paced, it was smooth, it was fun – and it’s been taken away, like all the rest.
As a Mistweaver, I could ask for a thousand spells back.
But I’ll only ask for this one thing: please, I beg you, remove the GCD on Soothing Mist.
Thank you.
