So according to a post in the US forums MM hunters will still be able to play with their pet. I recently specced back into MM as I rotate my specs every 3 months or so and I really enjoy playing with my pet. I am happy that Blizzard have given MM an option to keep their pets or play without them, makes sense to me.
Good for the marksmen that wanted it.
However I have completely given up on the spec, there is no hope, not on rework either.
They always make sure to dumb the spec down in their âreworkâ.
Best to pick up a healer; Iâll play disc its much better and it does even more dmg than MM LOL.
Unless blizzard gives us billions of HP like a raid boss and ability to solo mythic dungeons and stuff on our own I am not going to play it!
And this is why WoW canât adapt and changeâŚ
Was surprised to see how many hunters felt attached to their tamagotchi AI dmg sponge.
To me pets are a nuisance, and at least in PvP it is more or less mandatory to have pets with mortal wounds and rootbreakers in most scenarios. Maybe if you could swap their abilities around, so that every pet isnt either an undead raptor, rodent or hippo and I could pick pets I like I wouldnât mind them as much. Though they would still be as annoying to micromanage so there is also that.
I donât mind this change and I guess it will make some people happy.
Just keep in mind that the time Blizzard spend trying to balance two builds (pet/nopet) for MM is time that could be spent dealing with other Hunter issues, especially when you have two other specs that have pets actually built into their rotation, whereas for MM the pet is just a dmg sponge and source of utility.
Then u play mm very wrong i guess.
Says a TROLL Paladin playing a spec that was once known as âlolretâ which is now a very solid DPS spec with combat res, but ok.
Pets belong with Hunters. The very first scene of the very first WoW cinematic features a Dwarven Rifleman and his loyal bear companion. That is the entire reason I picked up WoW
So stop your whining, and stay on your lane.
I hate pets!
Im a Lone Wolf.
Pets are annoying⌠They die too fast and you have to resurrect them every 5 sec in PvP.
Im so pleased the MM is gonna be without any pets in the next patch.
Donât know what your point is about the paladin I have as my avatar on the forum.
The point still stands though, people like you, crying, stop the game from modernising and feeling fresh. If you want to stay in the past, go play Classic or SoD as the WoW you play now isnât like the WoW from the original cinematic.
For people who donât like to play with pets, there are lots of other classes to play.
People who want to play MM without a pet will still be able to do so. The eagle provides the utility of a pet without the need to micromanage an npc dmg sponge.
The issue is MM having a smooth playstyle, which it does not at the moment. Currently you have to swap pets for Bloodlust, which is clunky, you have CC which relies on your pet being alive and not CCed and are unable to leave combat because you didnât micromanage your pet.
Having to change pet for bloodlust is irritating. For me survival hunter in MOP was the best and most fun spec. Playing BM because I cant stand the static MM. I like to be mobile.

Maybe if you could swap their abilities around, so that every pet isnt either an undead raptor, rodent or hippo and I could pick pets I like I wouldnât mind them as much.
That was actually the case at some before⌠I think Shadowlands or at some point in BfA? Where you could have a pet and specialize it into being a PvE, PvP or Solo pet.
But then that changed for some ungodly reason, and now if Iâm gonna play a Survival/Beast Mastery Hunter and do regular content, Iâd be forced to use a pet that can tank. No more Frostwolf Orc fantasy for me (At least outside of group activity)
