Wait wth, 12 keybinds? You can macro most of them, it’s not hard and there are really good documentation on warcraft wiki, wowhead, etc… And if you have hard time grasping macros, then there are TONS already ready macros to use. If you aren’t shy you can ask the “macro-community” we are very friendly and helpful. But if you are shy, just ask chatgpt. I use it to fix a really advance macro+weakaura solution and it was my first time using chatpgt.
I think I use 5 pet oriented keybinds: 1 for the lust, 1 keybind for feign, 1 keybind for attack+fetch+move and 1 keybind for call pet (1, 2, and 3) + dismiss + mend + revive + eye of the beast. I don’t count stop attacking/passive/petfollow since it’s on the same keybind as my own “stop attacking”.
Shouldn’t count fetch either since that one is built in my “hunter’s mark + miss direct” button.
Best change they have ever made to the hunter class, play survival or beast mastery if you want the pet. Glad that they will be patching this clunky mess out so I can focus on my character and not some bothersome pet ai.
Would you consider switching to Affliction warlock if Shadow suddenly became a healing spec, where by sacrificing your own life to heal others? Or go Holy Paladin if Holy Priests became a dps, where you cleansed the enemy from sin with your holy spells? Affli is a dot dps class and holy a healing one, why wouldn’t priest lovers want to change to that do you think? Those changes could sound awesome in some ppls ears even but they’ll take away the identity of two pecs ppl have identified with for 2 decades.
I play both Surv and BM form time to time, but I have had my MM since 2005, I always go back to her as my main no matter what I start an expansion with, because using Aimed shots, rapid fire and steady shots is awesome… My pet has always been at my side when doing it and controlling him have never been an issue other than my own dps loss for not using Lone Wolf. Him dying in M+ is a M+ issue nothing else… and I rarely play M+ or Mythic raids. Just because you want to Min/Max trough life on the easiest mod possible doesn’t mean that I have to suffer from it.
I’m not judging and would love to see you satisfied too and think the devs should Just give us the option to choose how we want to play… it’s not that hard
Nobody cares. You don’t need to play MM for more than 15 minutes to realize that the pet and MM have no interaction. Not a single MM ability or talent interacts with a pet. You have two specs, one of which is 100% pet-focused, while the other is only slightly less so. Play one of those two if you care so much about your pet.
One more reason not to worry. You people need to understand that many players play this spec at some decent level and are primarily interested in the good-fun design and performance of the spec. This half-baked spec has had many problems for too long, and blizz finally wants to fix it.
I know all about macros, and I’m using hundreds of these across my characters
However, for optimal hunter arena gameplay it’s good to have petassist and petpassive separately (for different situations f.e. sticking the pet to one target no matter who you attack), petattack arena 1-3 to send the pet on the enemy rogue without re-targeting, taunt enemy pet, pet move etc. and all these binds add up
I can’t wait to try out the new MM redesign… If I want to play with pets I have BM and survival… MM needs it’s own niche and this sounds like the way to go… I can play my robinhood fantasy
I’ve had my pet for a stupidly long time too. I don’t want to lose her and I’ve never liked playing BM or Survival. I’ve enjoyed playing a MM for years, even though they have at times been a bit squishy.
Looking like people like us are either going to be forced into a spec change to keep our pets or go lone wolf with the naff eagle thingy.
I also don’t like how double pet is mandatory on BM (as in, really difficult to dodge around the talent)
Now I don’t have a choice if I want a bow and a pet.
At least currently the people who didn’t want a pet could spec lone wolf and the ones who do can go without.
Why not just give the lone wolf talent 3 choices? (So lone wolf BL, lone wolf sac and lone wolf def. buff) and still leave it where it is on the talent tree so I can still dodge around it.
When there are such fundamental “choices” within a spec they must balance around them and it never works well in the long run. That’s why they want to move away from this kind of design.
They already failed with all “two in one” spec trees in the game so far - cat/bear feral, demon form warlock, gladiator stance warrior, melee wings holy etc. It never works. Never. One is always better and the other one is trash, and everybody plays whatever is better.
They have finally decided for better or worse to concentrate on one thing and build the spec around it. Better say bye to your pet
Yeah, the most annoying thing about pets is the AI and as much as I love BM, it can be exasperating and why I have more played MM in recent time. I have no issue if the pet is a part of the mechanic rather than a companion…like in intimidation currently - and I suppose with the sentinel pooing bird circle
Correct me if I’m wrong, but hasn’t the one complaint of most (MM) Hunters, for YEARS, been about having a pet when it should be a petless spec? And now when y’all finally get to be rid of it I’ve seen complains about the pet being taken away?
Same, I always have a pet. Except on those occasions where I’m forced to take a random weird in-dungeon shortcut.
I remember the good old days of pets pulling the entire dungeon with those shortcuts. I always put the pet away for them.
For those people who want pet play: Play BM there you have a pet, and its work even better.
you dont focus a class on just one aspect, like prist are not entirly focused on healing and light or rouges arnt just assasins they got a fraking pirate specc.
And for MM you have the Sniper/ Sharhsooter fantasy because not everybody is a drooling pet lover.
yeah, the players cried to have an specc without pet, first because to not deal with the Ai and to differ from BM and SV (befor it became an meele)
suddenly the pet is so improtant for MM, a class that is focused on its weapons/skill, not the pet.
