Don’t bank on what you get on Beta or PTR being what the experience will be live. Same happened to me on the PTR for ZM testing. Felt good until it went live suddenly I was weaker. The same for Beta it felt good -betcha it wont be the same once live.
EQ1 and ESO handles this better than wow. Eq1 has aa points which works way better than our talent trees. Eso hero points are also decent.
Both system gives me a sence of achievement and a reason to do things.
Blizzard could do something similiar instead of squish but they wont. Sadly…
In TESO the Hero points are given after they get max level. Until then the whole world scales to the player too. But difference to WoW is that there you have an active fighting system and every class plays similar to a demon hunter. In WoW you play instead rather stativ.
So the Talent trees in WoW are not the problem but the level system right now where we got the old trees back just so they can justify still having a level system after two item squish and now a level squish too. They say they need a level system so they can get a numberreset because for them just keeping the GS system is making them having to high numbers.
I think i explained myself poorly… i try again
Example
Lvl squish removed. 100 is the new max.
Every expansion after the one where you got lvl 100 would give more hero/achievement poitns instead of lvls. These points would be able to earn from lvl ten. Achievements, collections , tradeskills and quest would give these poins.
After lvl 100 each expansion would require lvl 100 plus a set amount of points before you could enter/solo the dungeons/raids. Sort of the system you have for floors on torghast but better.
Points could always be added and no squish be nessesary.
Two different games but just look at the amount of aa points you can get in Everquest

Cant post links so have to put spaces in. More than 10.000 poins exsist and more are added each expansion.
Could have that instead of constant lvl.
Not sure i explained it well enough but i tried
If i got 270 itemlvl and mobs scale from 200 itemlvl to 215 itemlvl Blizzard invalidated 15 itemlvl of player progression so why they just dont reduce powercreep by 15 itemlvl and remove scaling? Ohyeah ofc becouse it creates ilusion of progression what allows them to have 4 raid difficult levels for sake of acessability even when part of that progression is literaly just an ilusion.
So many wow problems could be solved by simply reducing acessability of end game but no Blizzard will rather create all these hidden complex systems just to keep participation numbers high even when it makes players quit playing game.
i stopped playing assassins creed odyssey because everything scaled. in origins there was an option. much better experience. i hate scaling npcs
I agree but they had to find ways to stop Snowflakes quitting the game because they couldn’t instantly be were you worked to be.
Because theres simply so many game modes with staggering rewards at this point they csnt simply knock 15 off without damage and alot of back peddling.
To ultimately reach a identical result.
Its a split opinon weather you should or shouldnt be able to 1 shot a monster im afraid realistically some do want it others dont.
With the birth of world quests meaning you kill the same mobs u did for a quest at this point its not rly doable to go back, if they did WQs would be finished in seconds and rep would be a too easy grind.
How is open world monsters being one shot anything to do with accessibility it makes no sense.
The loss of open world monsters being one shot, is because of open world players not because of people in that level of content lol.
Its because of the World Quest systems to why one shotting got removed lol.
Ion feels it is a bas thing, that players who dont do content past solo stuff, end up surrounded by players who one shot everything faster then they tag, so in response fixed the problem for them.
Because it makes content in older areas irrelevant. I even wish they would do that across every zone, like Elder Scrolls Online does, so that every mob has a minimum-uptime of combat and this would actually make bot gold farming less rentable because it requires more time to kill mobs which then means less gold per hour.
I understand what you are saying but completely disagree.
Gear doesn’t feel rewarding this way and even leveling up doesn’t feel rewarding. Someone else told a great example btw , bfa was horrible cuz of scaling at start. I still remember how it felt to hit 116 and i also still remember how long it took to kill mobs as fully geared 120.
You need to feel stronger when you level up which is completely opposite you actually get weaker because of stat scaling. That extra talent point doesn’t make up for that penalty of losing stats.
You need to get stronger when you loot stronger gear. This only partially is a thing. Yes you get stronger but its extremely minimal and in fact it is almost unnoticable during first patch of a new xpac.
Also yes i do want to 1 shot a mob if i have enough gear to do it. I wouldn’t mind it. We were basically doing that during Legion and no one complained.
I would HATE if it was like ESO… farming tmogs would be even more awefull than it is now… having to raid with ppl to do BWL or Black Temple… NO THANK YOU!!!
Eso have many good things but scaling is NOT one of them imo
ESO scaling is really bad don’t even go to that. Also this is basically punishing normal player because someone else is cheating. Just get actual gms that bans bots problem solved.
Also atm blizzard is experimenting bringing old dungeons and maybe raids in future so they won’t be irrelevant.
Bfa was down to borrowed power not scaling. The issue was blizzard designed classes to run at 50% of its capability and left azerite gear to patch the holes.
Then in season 1 decided azerite traits were going to be weak to feel “progression” uptoo season 4.
So basically bfa went through classes feel really weak for 2 seasons to then feel somewhat good.
As someone who progresses primarily end game systems and less open world, i wouldnt mind it returning to one shotting personally, however i guess like anything with split opinon one sides going to lose.
how is world monsters hjaving anything to do with enf game?
they dont. thats the point.
your saying this is for “Accessibility” When it isnt. because Accessibility would mean everyone could equally reach the point of one shotting monsters.
the reason they removed it for everyone was because Not everyone can one shot the mobs and it felt bad to the players who couldnt as they were mainly the ones who only played Solo content.
I am saying that difficulty levels exist to make end game acessible and difficulty levels cause powercreep which is reason why mob hiden scaling exists. So in order to get rid of scaling you have to make game less acessible first aka remove difficulty levels.
So basically, in order to get rid of scaling, u want WoW to die, lol did Wildstars Fate teach you nothing?
Which I am totally looking forward to. Hope, one day I can play Icecrown Citadel with it being actually difficult… And hopefully with a full texture revamp too.
