Over the course of just a week both these realms went from medium to high pop. I wonder if its people returning or people rerolling / transferring there. Well either way is good for the game
pretty sure they are transfer. got a free "transfer " to mograine, for free if i wanted to, from golemagg, prob bc the que, maybe it’s time to transfer to ashbringer, and lock certien realms and get more balanced
Yeah I have been tracking Mograine since realms were meant to be merged into it.
Hordeside had 5K listings on AH and Alliance had 400-600 listings. Realm was low (this was 4 weeks ago).
Now Hordeside has 60k+ listings on AH and Alliance 12k+ realm is high.
Same here, told my guild about the rise of auctions, got told from a member that auctions have no correlation with playerbase xd
Guess im stuck on Gehennas or moving alone
Interesting to say the least.
yeah im going for a dead server, aka ashbringer, thats low atm, started a warr on horde mograine few days ago, and it was a medium realm, now full
It’s a shame tbh.
I just logged onto Mograine Horde and ran the command to see how many players were currently in the LookingForGroup channel. 2139 players.
It’s a decent way to gauge population besides using AH. Select speaker icon in the chat window, click on LookingForGroup and run this command.
/run print(GetChannelDisplayInfo(6))
shame more people won’t play on these realms instead of crying about queue times
"OH no because it ain’t fresh =((((((( " rather wait 6 hours and cry on the forums instead
isnt a dead server basically fresh?.. if the vast majority are starting from scratch
In theory. In practice, dead is dead, because no one plays where no one plays : )
There was actually a “fresh reroll” project in late Vanilla with this idea behind it - people picked an empty server and rolled there en masse. Was quite successful for some time even, but then the hype died and TBC wasn’t so much fun and that server (Dragonfang) got empty again.
but they arent dead. both Mograine and Nethergarde are high pop. which means the transfer system is working. blizzard just needs to switch them off the transfer list and target the next selection of servers to pour players into.
Lol sorry I was responding to another thread, yes, Mograine and Nethergarde are great examples of how transfers can resurrect a server. I played on a similar one, Bloodfang, got good pop thanks to free transfers from Firemaw in the beginning of 2020.
But transfers killed much more servers than they resurrect. They only resurrect if large servers become genuinely unplayable, like now (like on Gehennas, I heard even if you pass the queue, you still can’t really play because of lag).
I don’t quite agree that resurrected server is similar to fresh, some might be starting from scratch, but there are a lot of players who transfer. But hard to say, really.
Whatever “high” means. It could be like this.
00-40% Low
41-50% Medium
51-90% High
90-99% Full
100%+ Queues
Guess its true that these servers get more people involved. Ironforge pro isnt a good metric as if its new players leveling they wont be listed there but they both went from med to high so its cool to see
