I just want to note how big of a deal is turning to be that we are one if not the most capped class in the entire game that has every AOE skill capped to 5 objectives. It’s totally sadge and makes Monk unviable at any kind of AOE highlevel gameplay. Maybe 8 objectives? Anything to compensate? A DoT like almost any other melee that does damage passively? Im im just trying to understand how I will compete Vs my friends when they are playing Evoker or Profane… I will be literally out of the game the moment we try to take any decent Keys… Not even asking for DAMAGE BUFFS just some kind of flexibility with out Target capacities…
You’re 2.3k. You’re so far away from it mattering and monks have succeeded in keys far higher than you’ll ever see. It’s a pointless whine.
What does his score have to do with anything he just said? and he is totally right, target cap is an issue with Windwalker, even in lower lvl content, it’s ofc a lot worse when you start doing higher lvl content, and everyone that plays WW at a decent lvl knows this, it’s been like that for a while, they should finally increase the cap on some of Windwalkers AoE abilities from 5 to 8 or something.
Because his point was about him trying “decent keys” and his score is a pretty damn good indication he never will.
It’s like me complaining about the Olympic marathon rules. It’s never going to affect me, just like what hes complaining about is never going to affect him.
That doesn’t change the fact that his point is valid, Windwalker has a big issue with their AoE cap, he is not the only person playing Windwalker you know, besides that, he said ‘‘if’’ he was going to do higher keys, but even at lower keys it’s still an issue, it just gets a whole lot worse the higher you go, and just because something doesn’t affect you as much right now, doesn’t mean it wont affect you in the future, the problem is still there.
Yea, completely “unviable”. Much sadge. Stop talking rubbish.
I don’t know why you linked that, you can most likely do that for every spec in the game, Windwalker is pretty strong for single target right now, so they are still okay to bring at higher keys if you bring other dps specs for the AoE, but that doesn’t change the fact that they have a problem with their AoE, the more mobs you pull, and the higher lvl content it’s in, windwalker falls off like a rock, and that is a problem, it’s very simple.
To prove they aren’t unviable, literally the claim made in the OP.
Just because there are some top players doing pretty high keys on a certain spec doesn’t automatically mean there is nothing wrong with that spec, by that logic literally every class/spec is fine because there will always be high keys done on every spec by good players,
being ‘‘viable’’ doesn’t mean there is nothing wrong, so his point is still valid, AoE cap is a problem on Windwalker, and no, his score has nothing to do with it.
Maybe next time if you have nothing useful to say then maybe just don’t say anything at all instead of being toxic
You’re so nice and helpful here.
Am I just meant to see people talking rubbish and always agree so I can be perceived as " nice and helpful"?
Here is the dictionary definition. When read against that, how is ww not viable?
viable
adjective
- capable of working successfully; feasible.
Again, viable or capable doesn’t mean it is without problems, and he is not talking rubbish, there is a problem with Windwalker’s AoE, everyone that plays WW at a decent enough lvl to understand the spec will tell you that.
Windwalker is pretty garbage right now for m+. Logs show it anybody that says ww is fine doesn’t play windwalker. There are like 5 specs that perform worse than windwalkers in m+.
Top, ml, rookery, dfc, mechagon WW is okay not great not super good. Other dungeons literally so bad. You have to get every buff for WW to perform okay for last 3 dungeons.
Target cap is not an issue. The problem is ability design like Celestial Conduit and Strike of the Windlord with this weird split damage instead of normal soft cap
3K rating already and growing all in 2 weeks. Been playing Monk for just 2 weeks and I can already perceive much more problems with the class. You can say whatever you want but trying to find pugs in already +13 content as a Monk it’s almost impossible, no one wants the Monk. Trying to point a dude doing +19 with his perfect team gives 0 input in terms of AoE cap and Monk viability in the meta. We are HARD CAPPED in AoE specifically in our most important buttons in terms of BURST and that’s what this meta is all about AOE UNCAPPED BURST. Yeah if you try to find a nitche for us Monks for bursting certain targets it might work but we do not bring ANYTHING to the table compared to an Arcane Mage or even an Enchance Shaman. Stop trying to minimize our problems when they are CLEARY OBSERVABLE. Having a AOE spell duplicating it’s damage and DISTRIBUTING IT with ALL the targets and NOT doing it’s own damage on every target is VERY weird and Conduit is beyond Madness for a melee class with HIGH RPM, we are CHANNELING DOING 0 DAMAGE IN AOE TERMS it’s beyond undertuned in AOE situations.
I’m not a big player, but I also feel the same at 10s when others do 15-19M dps and I peak at 4-6. However I don’t like conduit gameplay and I also don’t like that all “viable” wannabe monks play that spec. It feels much closer being a healer spell than a dps and it also works weird, even buggy - the same goes with Slicing Winds. (This is my personal opinion about conduit.)
The target cap/uncap part should affect our baseline abilities, like Fists of Fury or Spinning Crane Kick. Removing Mark of the Crane was a good change, giving back Serenity would be an other (but sadly, I doubt it will happen, because they removed Touch of Death nodes and split Serenity into SeF and 2 other nodes).
Why do I have to uncomfortably manage copies of my character (that can also stop working randomly and I lose dps using my dps CD - joke!) when others just pop up their CD-s and manage fine with flat dps increase for x seconds? At least give back the option.
