Monk or Hunter?

Holy crap.

I was in one of the Utgarde dungeons recently on a DPS monk and ended up healing at the harpoon boss as the real healer died, well it was me and a paladin healing.

So go monk, hunters are far too easy and get boring.

You can tame a fox as a vulpera hunter for maximum wholesomeness.

Anything with name “hunter” attached will take you far without actual skill nor fun.
Pick 'em if you are up to boredom.

Hunters are incredibly fun.

Hey!

It can be fun.

With the leveling buff in place I’d recommend leveling one of each. Hunter to see how the gameplay works out for you (BM rotation can be pretty dull after a while) and because Hunters can use almost every weapon in the game (similar to warriors.) Why is this significant you ask? Because it makes collecting weapons for transmog easier.

If you do not want to level two characters then I’d go for monk, especially if you like healing and/or tanking in WoW. Hunter has that DPS kick to it, but it is just limited by only having a DPS spec option. Monk is also pretty flashy in my opinion, so you can never go wrong with them. Brewmaster takes some time getting used to, do keep that in mind.

I main monk now and have ever since mop (mainly healer spec though), but I’m going to tell you to play hunt for sure. You won’t find monk that fun to play right now, they ain’t exactly that good gameplay right now.
Go hunt, it’s fun for new players for sure.

I find monk fun as hell. My monk has just overtaken my “main” in neck level.

Monk, at least until blizzard caves in and gives us DW survival.

Eww, a furry

Classes like Monk or Paladin are good if you like to play more than one role, but if you only play DPS then you’re better off playing a class with 2 or 3 DPS specs. Overall, it’s always about what you find interesting and useful.

I mained a hunter for years. But the changes that were made to the class during Legion and BFA have turned me off completely. So my recommendation would be monk.

However, you should probably use a few class trials to get a feel for how each class/spec plays before making a decision.

Hunter.

Always Hunter.

The only problem is that monks can only trialled on WW, and hunter only on BM

Hunter, king of both group AND solo content, your Swiss army knife of combat mechanics. Need to escape? Feign death, let those suckers die. Need to tank? Your pet got you covered. Need to prevent splatting on the ground? Disengage it’s there for you. Wanna stealth perhaps? Cause you’ve got a talent for it. Or maybe you wanted bloodlust? Here you go. What about self healing? You even got OPTIONS, like leech, or an additional healing. Ranged or melee? You can have both. Mechanics? Actually the best class for mechanics.

Sure you can’t play as tank or healer, but who needs it, you’re a one man band, man.

The feeling of being able to dps an elite down in a Mythic before it reaches you is bliss.

No need for 30 tanks, just 30 hunters and we can make any raid our b*tch.
