Monk players. What is the biggest pro/con of BREWMASTER

Id love to hear from people who main monk, rather than some randoms on reddit

In MoP and WoD it was an insanely fun tank with a some sweet gimmicks like Dizzying Haze and Guard. Now its basically a slower WW monk. In my opinion it lost most of it’s flavour and the one redeeming things has also been taken, which was carrying the Legion artefact on your shoulder, which WW monk can also do now.

In my opinion Brew got to passive in its defences and needs a proper rework.

They made some changes in 11.2.

Celestrial brew is now a ignore pain with 30% dmg redu instead of ignore pains 50%.

Expel harm is now a hot rather than instant heal

and ox is now buffed

still doesnt change the fact that captstone talents are bad lol. which is a bit off putting.

been playing brew last 3 days and it seems better with these changes

Pro: Do not need to learn bosses’ tankbusters
Con: Self-sustain

I just wanted to try something different. I played DH and DK so far, just needed a challenge and a complete different playstyle. I managed to succeed.

I sort of miss breath a bit, I always loved using it.

Quite minor but I wish crackling jade lightning wasn’t channeled and functioned like other tank “mob-tag” abilities like Throw Glaive and Heroic Throw.

Pro is that it’s a super fun tank to play

One of the most genuinely fun tanks I have played. But no hiding, a lot of it is because I just enjoy the theme and the story behind it. Certainly helps coming back to it even during the recent dark times when it was ‘meh’ to play.

Quite fun now honestly. But it was also fun back then. It’s just more reliable and self-invested somewhat, comparatively. Worth the try as always!

I do not see any pros per se, just happy it’s finally after many expansions worthwhile to play, stagger mechanism, once you get the gist of it, is awesome.

My main problem, and what I find really annoying as Im tanking with all classes, is the fact that monks and now dks also after they removed abom limb, dont have a really easy way to gather up groups, dks mind you have it easier, but monks on caster groups pulls / if you cant utilize some LoS aspect, like its often the case in open space dungeons.

The Ring is a gimmick that should instead of exploding mobs outwards should implode them inwards to the middle and pacify them for one sec w/e to stay true to the name ring of peace. Otherwise need a new talent with something.

DHs have AoE silence, have an AoE pull sigil, Palas have the aoe interrupt.
Bears and wars have their own stuff but still also miss AoE mechanics for casters. Im not saying ofc to have constant aoe interrupts like pala, thats a one off and should stay. Im talking bout getting monks and other tanks in a place where they can with a normal cd of 1 - 1,5 Min. be able to pull big caster groups without them spreading all over the place.

Its not like we are playing vanilla where we CCed almost every pull. All tank classes need to have such abilities. Its high time. One of the main reasons DH and Palas are top tier lists is this fact. It simply speeds up the pace of the m+

If anyone agrees, you are free to copy/paste and/or adapt this idea on the tank forums. Lets see if this brings something.
