Was allied races a missed opportunity to introduce another race that worships the celestial’s? For instance High mountain could have had a sect that used chi but it would be named something different just like sunwalkers are.
It would make monks feel less panda exclusive and give monks a different flavour.
Definitely, but Monk class feels like it is downgraded to just “martial arts class”.
Because I can’t see e.g. Forsaken even be able to become this class if it was treated the way it should be.
Anyway, yeah adding more flavour for any class would be welcomed addition

Humans and draenei already had monks, why do they have to learn stuff from pandas?

Definitely a missed opportunity. But I think they’ve mistakenly steeped it so far into Pandaren lore they just can’t fix it now.
A monk of anything other than Pandaren just seems odd.

They’d have to rename a lot of spells.
Blackout tail, scales of fury, storm, puddles and ocean, and so on.
All races should have monk, hunter, warrior.
I’m actually surprised that any allied race has monks at all, especially mag’har, considering how Blizzard seem to do with monks what half the playerbase does with paladins, every starting area has a pandaren just shoved in to hammer in the fact that you can’t be a monk with out pandas, we don’t shove humans into the start zones for blood elves and tauren for paladin, or night elves into tauren or trolls, or put orcs into the dwarven and draenei start zones.
Give us goblin and worgen monks already!
And they can start at level 20 or 12 to fit with the story , I mean they can start at the Peak of Serenity, starting at 20 is not a gamechanger
