MOP Changes: Capping AOE healing of Shields

Now that MOP Classic is in the pipeline, I think a very important change that needs to happen concerns AOE shielding by Disc Priests. The ability to aoe shield and stack it sky high was a serious problem even to your own admission from patch 6.0.2:

Another place where Discipline’s absorbs were too strong was in their interaction with the level-90 talents, especially in large raids. Near the end of Mists of Pandaria , we uncapped the AoE healing of that talent row; that has proven to be a mistake in Discipline’s case, not just because it caused the level-90 talents themselves to heal for too much, but rather because the gigantic overhealing that that produced translated into gigantic Divine Aegis absorbs.

So for MOP, please cap AOE shielding. The problem was so bad that it was miserable for other healers in MOP much like it was in Wrath with bubble spamming Disc priests.

Just As long as the neighboars goat is dead…

What do you have against goats?

Its an expression ultimely criticizing the Human ebb towards the neighbor’s malfeasance instead of his own advancement .

False equivalency. Even Blizzard admitted this was a problem and fixed it later on.

It’s also an inappropriate use of the expression as discs being these overtuned monsters basically makes the presence of other healers feel obsolete. Nobody wants to feel like the little brother allowed to pick up only the tiniest of scraps left behind by the other player.

Their malfeasance being the direct catalyst for your position means that addressing the malfeasance can be the appropriate response.

The neighbour’s goat keeps eating all my crops so I’m starving, I sure hope his goat isn’t doing too well.
