While I welcome the alternative method to obtain LFR gear via the Celestial Dungeons mechanic, it is becoming rather monotonous spamming these dungeons and their iterations for leveling and gearing.
Solutions:
Make older dungeons Celestial iterations as well. e.g. Cata dungeons.
Bring back LFR that gives August stones and Valor. Only the last boss should give epic loot.
Increase the August stones and/or loot dropped by each boss in the current Celestial dungeons.
MoP is considered by many to have the worst dungeons in WoW history, especially due to the mandatory long unskippable roleplay before and after every boss. Also there are only 6 + 3 dungeons which is an all-time anti-record, making it way more boring. Whoever decided to give us dungeon spam in MoP of all expansions must be a sadistic psycho
Lie
MoP has 9 instances. Each instance has 3-4 each bosses and of all there are only 2-3 bosses with unskippable RP: dogs vs guards in Scarlet Halls after 1st boss (2 druids+3 mages can skip it), Sholomance before 2nd boss assemblies from bones and Siege before and after 2nd boss 35 seconds in total.
Gate. 0 role play. One person running after kill of second boss can skip like in 3 seconds after fires were extinguished by gunners.
Jade Serpent. All skippable. Roleplay after defeat of first boss (If you need that 463 ilvl blue, leave 1 dps player to wait for fishman taking a nap, while the rest can move on) and before second boss pull all trash down to boss area and kill chest with scrolls first.
Sholomance. 1st boss has short RP. Open the gate beforr Lillian Voss while finishing packs to skip her RP.
Shado-pan. 0 RP.
SH. Yup, those guards that bug out sometimes after first boss. However in your party is 2 druids and 3 mages you can skip it as they have blinks.
SM. 0 RP.
Siege. around 5 seconds before 2nd boss and 30s after him. In original MoP you could skip it through gate hinges with repair mammoth and invincible mounts with bug, but not anymore.
Brewery. 3 seconds after 2nd while rats carry cart to unblock the way. It is not even RP, just ensuring healer can drink after chaotic fight.
Palace. Run into 1st boss are with trash pack to skip RP.
Most of these dungeons are made with challenge mode in mind, sure if you run only easy mode celestial with buffs and overgeared people they may seem boring to you.
3 minute long RP before the 1st boss is not skippable. 2nd boss also has a long RP and not a single time has anyone pulled everything to him in my 300+ celestial dungeons
2nd boss has a 3 minute long RP before you fight him
Siege has the most abhorrent 5 minute long RP before the 2nd boss and 40 seconds afterwards
Brewery has a 3 minute long RP before the last boss
Do not pick on my words. You know well what I wanted to say. The dungeons have artificial time barriers inside of them that do not allow you to do the instance at your own pace and you have to just sit and wait. This is extremely annoying when you have to spam hundreds of them for months
I think the only ones I like are:
Gate Of The Setting Sun
Scarlet Monastery
Scarlet Halls
Every other dungeon has some stupid RP talk or some waiting time or stupid mechanics (Bloat in Brewery for example)
Really terrible this is the dungeons we will have to do for the rest of the expansion.
Cata at least only had 1 terrible dungeon (The water dungeon)… with MoP it seems like the norm.
Classic, TBC, WotLK had way better dungeons and way more as well. Why not make those “Celestial” and scale them up… bosses can drop the bad blue items and maybe the end boss items of current celestials. That would be so much better.
You can drag all packs from corridor and plato to 1st boss area, while doing so at least 2 of 4 corrupted elementals that boss summons would be killed. Also I do not consider this an RP while you kill boss adds and not stand AFK for 10 seconds doing nothing.
As for 2nd boss skip, well that is partially your fault for running with randoms and not speedrunning friends.
You always fighting some monks there on training arena or on top of boxes in the corner. Part of the encounter.
Again waves of mantis soldiers are part of the boss fight. Also, do you ring the gong to release next wave ASAP?
These are simply trash pack you do not need to run forward. Just like the bosses in ToGC.
I literally named you a dozen of skips that are performed by skilled players both in timed challenge mode runs and in celestial speedruns.
There are even more skips out there, but those are allready in bannable glitch abuse territory, like going under textures in Jade temple or flying to last boss after 1st one in brewery on engeneering gliders through walls, but I never used them on my 16yo account.
Yes the instances are devided into boss arenas and corridors with trash leading to them, but many instances in pre MoP Classic had such areas that locked the door untill you deal with the boss.
Firstly, the point of this thread which you missed completely is that I have to do this for every single alt and spamming these dungeons is becoming boring. There should be an alternative path and I have provided suggestions.
Secondly, 3-4 hours is not actually true. Not even close. Please stop spreading misinformation. It’s unflattering.
If the clown detector went off it would be whenever you are posting.
19 Dungeons assuming they all grant 12 stones on average is 228 stones in total, most 483 gear costs like 30-50 stones each, tier starts at 45 and weapons are either 1h 30 shards or 50 2hs.
Go figure that detector wouldn’t stop clowning on you.
Oh, I forgot another thing: ILVL upgrades, you are definitely not just in 19 dungeons, you would need at least double the dungeons to max ilvl upgrade in each slot.
And here goes the clown detector again, depending on dungeon it drops different gear, sure tier is always the constant factor but 1 per last boss off a table of 3 different groupings and 5 different tier set items.
It’s a 33% chance that is your class and another 20% that it is the item you need, or you have none of the tier and its a 40-100% need. A droprate of 6% up to 33%. I’ll actually be nice enough that most classes go with their 4pc out of celestials so starting at 13%.
Ah great even math wasn’t thought in school for you, the thing that has commonsense attached to it.
A celestial gives on avg 400 JPs, multiplied by 19 and we are at 7600 JP.
Avg VP gain is 240, same math as above and it is at 4560 VP.
32000 for most classes that aren’t using just MH, now you can double or triple that amount for classes that have to play their offspecs and don’t play a low effort DPS only class.
Remember you are the guy that got some false maths going on in your post.
As you were proven wrong above, you’re still missing the point. Spamming only dungeons for LFR gear in addition to leveling makes dungeons monotonous. And many dungeons have RP.
Now feel free to disagree but do not spread misinformation on how quickly you can gear with dungeons.
