More Balance druid alternative forms?

We got new moonkin variations at last, but it is just colour variations, no shape variations like cat and bear get. Would be nice to have a new type of creature or different types of heads too

    • Like Q’onzo headed Moonkin
    • or the Bastion steward owl type heads
    • Keeper/Dryad forms
    • More Astral Form variations
    • Enable balance in caster form with the buff.

Would be nice. Come on all you Balance druid players out there.

See a much wider variation. We could also get some Troll themed creatuers, and others like:

  1. Harpy form variation
  2. Arrakoa variation.

I feel like the moonkin is kinda iconic though…yes, its derpy but it just works!
Although I would support an astral form that was like a ghostly moonkin surrounding your druid.

I don’t feel derpy is for everyone, It’s good to have those who dig it, but it’s also nice to have alternatives… but my concern was mainly the face, not the derpy looking body, - however the face doesn’t scream intelligent. However maybe it’s chosen because Nelf druid have sense of irony.

you can also just usse the glyph to look astraly

Kinda wish they’d have different versions of this, have updates tot he star animations too.

would be nice but seems unfair to expect them to make THAT much costum forms for 1 class.

tbh i rather not have a form for balance. i use the force ghost just to keep my original form.

it would only make sense to change form when you turn into tank or dps. (not counting casting spec)

Well i think you gotta try, given that you spend your time in the one form, which has a tiny fraction of the customisation your character would normally have.

Which is one of the reasons having vaireties of astral forms that allow you to be in the gear you have as a balance druid is good. originally blaance didn’t have a form, so it should be optional, and have variations too I feel

But why does Moonkin has to look fat? Why can’t they look hot like Kate Aubrey?

Exactly, there are people like that… why not have different shapes for the balance form too or at least for the moonkin - - it’s just that cat and bear have far one in them too, so there are ways to make balance feel it has options too, and your own caster form if you are not up to it, Moonkin form is a buff, it isn’t a functional transformation like cat and bear.

The kangaroo cat should have been a cat form…

Worst is that the moonkin were actually swole in WC3.

I in fact want the fiery version of Q’onzu in blue. Why would the “unnatural” form have a crowning flaming moon sickle over its head but the original, untainted version wouldn’t get a blue glowing one? Makes no sense.

Yes and yes.

Oh, i remember they were more associated with the bear… and may have been better suited as an alternative for bear form, especially if they had a bear spec witha bit more magic detail in it.

Shoulda redesigned the head totally… but saying that they could play it as a night elven druidic sense of irony… tkae the dumbest looking creature to hide the smartest castesrs. /shrug… still i would have preferred the head to look like an owl, rather than a chicken.

Like they could make a owl version of the swole-bear and it would be closer to the OG moonkins.

I think what’s needed is for the other races to get more options as well. Maybe some new bling for dino-druids, more variations for the thronspeakers as well. Moonkin forms are way too nelf-ish.

That’s okay if the fans want bling dinosaurs, but was it in the lore before has it shown up? can you understand that people want more for various reasons. sometimes it’s a combination of better was available before + wanting something superior to what they got.

I keep saying, to your urban based population, especially on alliance faction, just having an entire major race as forest hippies , chilling in a village is insufficient, no matter how tranquil that forest is. It’s nice to have a tranquil forest, but when there is nothing more, it becomes boring and un-interesting.

This is greatly exacerbated by night elves previously having a lot more than that, having a counter opposite/contrast to such. for every deep tranquil and stunningly beautiful forest, the lore has a contrast in a majestic and stunningly beautiful city . For every peaceful , serenely quite night elf, the lore has the contrast of a ferocious, near savage type aggression in battle that is formidable.

For every humble , plain and simple seeming druid, the lore has the contrast of a highly sophisticated and complex Highborne. For every great tree of nature, the lore has them with a great Well of arcane.

They are race of contrasts between wo extreme ends that they have balance between… having a great city does not preclude having a great forest nor vice versa… being peaceful, tranquil and serene does not preclude being fierce, dangerous and violent when fighting.

For living immortally, they have the contrast of dying mortal like.

And it is the contrast that is a classic feature of them…a juxtaposition of contrasting ends that makes them an enigma. This is how they are distinct… not by just having forests and druids. Every race has forests, and quite a few have druids (as well as mages and priests) - but only one is night based and only one has such contrasts.

…is the zandalari version? Well, the skeleton is the same.

Honestly, I don’t think balance should be played in caster form. A huge part of the druid class is their forms. I will never support a removal of those. Class uniqueness is already watered down more than enough.

More moonkin variations is fine with me, as you said, bear and cat have different options. Personally I just love my astral form. I like shiny things, and astral form is glowing!

On this subject I’d also like to see worgen druids get an option to use their cat and bear form as their actual worgen forms.
