More or less disturbing: Vulpera displaying fox tails

Possible attempts at making sense of it:

They are tribal savages who portray their victories over rivaling tribes.

These are fox tails not vulpera tails. They have no problem killing an animal that is extremely closely related to their species.

These are crafted imitations (made from some fur from animals that are definitely not foxes ) and they like to portray cut off body parts as a symbol of vulperan identity.

Maybe it’s how they honor their fallen?

Not as disturbing as a great big piece of green flame shooting from someone’s hands.

Oh wait yes; it’s fantasy RPG

Why is that disturbing? Humans have been using human skulls, bones and the like as decoration for ages…
irl even

Probably like the native muricans and their penchant for scalping.

Well, you have tattoo’s, clothing, art, exhibits (the one with real life persons without skins in musea).
Or look at something like Day of the Dead and decorations there.
Then we have a whole range of fake skull and bones items like candleholders, rings, necklaces.
We can also look a bit further and go to adult themed life like toys.
We humans have a knack for displaying a whole range of gear/items that look like parts of ourselves

I remember being freaked out as a kid when people had real a rabbits foot on a keychain :face_vomiting:

I wear the fangs of the bear I wrestled for my initiation into manhood when I was 9 and a half. :pensive:

I still do tbh.

I can’t even eat animal parts I can still recognize as such. I need my meat as a formless slab that cannot visually be identified as belonging to a once living creature.

I am exactly the same. At xmas dinner I have all the veg but with sausages or something - I was a vegetarian for 12 years.

They eat weakest of them when they are out of food. Survival of the fittest. Those are tails of Vulpera that were sacrificed for tribe to survive.

Maybe tails of Vulpine familiars that just weren’t familiar enough?

And the former chieftain got the special privilege of becoming the mailbox.

Yeah, what is also disturbing is when people say something isn’t disturbing just because it is being done here and there.
