Just coming up with an idea because I consider Loremaster requires a lot of effort and currently has no real rewards and doesn’t encourage players that much on completing old content.
So, as a few ideas of rewards:
1 Transmog set for each expansion (easier per armor type, would be even greater per class)
Each time you complete an expansion receive a quest like an in-game survey, asking player to rate the content they just completed and maybe have the option to add a comment to it. As a reward it can be a box of wonders containing randomly one of the following: gold, rare gear(be it rare as quality or rare as trasmog), a battle pet or a mount.
When having all “old”(non current expansion) Loremaster achievements be able to actually become a quest giver. It would be just like sharing a quest to somebody else but you don’t actually have to participate to the quest, the one accepting it will complete it for you. Put an appropriate cooldown for this mechanic, like one or two days. Make it cost the Loremaster some gold and make the one making the quest get a reward in the form of a chest containing random stuff, similar to the one I previously mentioned(but with lower drop rates, or just play with it more as ideas).
It is just an idea that I think it would add some drive for Loremasters.
To give the quest you will probably make yourself available or do it directly with someone you want to in first place, since it isn’t like you are going to give that quest to 100 players, only to one.
As for handing in the quest, there is no need at all, there are many quests with an auto complete.
Also most probably should apply to certain quests only, for example not on the finishing quest of an area that provides the best reward, also not for group quests/elite quests.
Arent “Loremaster” and “Explorer” titles unfair? They add the new expansion zones every time In the past you got these titles by doing just a few zones without Draenor, Legion, etc…
Yes, a bit, but you can not retire the titles
But adding individual rewards for each can at least make it a bit more fair.
Even more fair it would be if you actually do those at the intended level, as for example in Shadowlands expansion you would get a full reward being max level 50 while doing a particular Chromie time. For example soft reward would be the transmog set, full reward would add the gold and the random gear from the second point of the suggestion (pet and mount should remain available for both cases as a random chance, or just a random pet/mount from a predefined list).
Interesting idea.
I do the Loremaster achievement for each expansion on my main, so a little reward would be nice when I complete it in an expansion. Especially if it was a piece of class transmog gear. Would be a great incentive to push some of my alts through Loremaster.
Admittedly though, they do give us that ugly as F tabard to add to our collections. Now who doesn’t love not wearing that and hiding it where no one will ever see.
