More time for Classic

they know players hate cataclasm, mop. moment og classic server went there was massive drop in players. this whole anniversy thing for people like classic. they already said there there resetting at wotlk at the whole revel

what you are mistaken is that you have have year but at 12th month classic will eb able to use tbc talent trees before actual transfer like that always done

you can expect blizzard to make some changes do to speed of things maybe not talent changes but raid changes cause 40 man isn’t gonna cut in if your limited to that maybe months

Why are they planning on running two progressive classic versions at different stages?

The other classic is on Cata and soon to be MoP

Are the Cata numbers so bad they needed to do another reset back to vanilla?

I personally would have preferred SoD to be nearer the last phase/ on the last phase before they split the player base, seems quite a few where more than eager to leave Sod and will just log once a week to see the end.

Don’t worry, Bluzzard allready showed they are willing reboot the Classic till community is fragmented beyond repair.

do be fair we have alot different type of classic players you major three groups are % classic with no changes with gdkp + watch is classic era - classic with butt load changes no one asked for but getting them anyway sod. and then classic + watch is complete reformat of the og classic watch basically balienced classic with very little changes

once those 3 groups are happy no more shouldnt force people to play your way no one wants retail like classic but people are so blind that that cant see how bad state is for some classes in classic gets bit much so small needed balienced changes updates are fix those issues so relevancy is thing

right now in classic wow og classic wow we have classics that are not revelavant in raiding at all to many people focus on world first that means having every single one of your dps as warriors is not fun basically saying you cant play characters you enjoy moment get 60 watch is lame as hell

I really doubt Cata has a “massive drop”. When Classic MoP comes out it will have more players than Anniversary just like Cata. There isn’t anything special about vanilla and people play what is current and what others are playing.

If you saw Reddit then you would know how many wanted “Fresh”, so they got fresh. For now, the population is high, but that’s on one realm of each type per region. When MoP comes out Anniversary will have a “good” population while Cata/MoP will move one with the most players.

Right now on Ironforge Pro Cata has 122K active players, Era 14K, SoD 67K. There are no stats for Anniversary but looking at Census people post it’s around Cata levels - but that’s for non-max-level toons.

We still have till Winter 25/Spring 26 in the Vanilla zones, and only then we’ll have the TBC zones. It’s THIS (and the ability to roll a Draenei) which is interesting to me. I do not greatly care for talents ect, except for actually wanting to keep the Vanilla ones given a choice.

AND STILL we need to know what is going to happen after TBC is “done”! No way am I once again having my characters taken away by Cata, or my joy by Account-bound crap. Then better stay in Era.

Very bad! The worst actually.

MOP I’m sure it will do a lot better than Cataclysm.

But this Anniversary servers will stop at Wotlk I’m sure as there is literally no reason to go beyond that since they … already doing it with the 1st one.

Ehm, we know nothing now. Just that it will progress to TBC. NOTHING more.
No clones, no tbc era, no anniversary era, no loot you can keep. All those questions
aren’t answered.
Long days and pleasant nights, stranger.

In other words, not everyone likes to play mage

Hard disagree - 20 years of continuous play either on official servers or pservers means this game is something else. Classic was brought about by a huge Vanilla community pushing for it.

Agree.

It is an insane rat race. To me the one best perks of Era → No new content means the whole time in the world to do stuff. But anniversary players are hostile everytime I mention this, so I better watch what I type…

Private servers for expansions also existed, sometimes bigger than vanilla ones.

Prior to Classic there were only 2 big vanilla servers and post Classic they died. Then TBC Classic came out and ERA died to then only slightly recover.

There is audience for old-WoW content but it doesnt have to be pure vanilla - and by now people want new twists, new content. SoD went high, there is interest in TBC and people are constantly talking about Classic+… While the only popular pserver is Classic+ with lots of new content and changes (and another hyped project in the works). Pure vanilla servers have nearly no playerbase.

Not everyone is into farming Naxx for years. You got yor Naxx runs and it’s your fun only, people dont care abou others.

And those old raids arent as fun as fresh zones of TBC - only diehards will be obsessed with farming a raid for a year…

Not everyone is just into raiding.

If people arent into raiding then they are out of luck as there isn’t that much going on after Naxx is out.

Population starts to drop before AQ and after that you need a really committed 40 people to do naxx, but not everyone is interested and they quit or they ask for fresh because they want to level a new toon in non-empty zones.

I dont see a reason Anniversary realms should pretend they are Era when they are not. People wanting Naxx pixels for life have era while altoholics will get pre-TBC leveling wave.

I have seen people calling Anniversay Realms for Era - and I agree: it is two completely different things.
I guess many people - if not most - are here for the TBC part, and at least a good part of us are hoping (or praying) for TBC to stay as Era, although I won’t have high hopes here.

Only constantly subscribed ERA players? Reddit is happy, Wowhead comments are positive, Twitter is happy, and only a few people on the forums complain it’s not the very specific FRESH they wanted.

I played those servers for many many years. You lost me here.

I haven’t entered Naxx since 2022. Vanilla is so much more.

Well, this kinda tells me you already know everything past, present and future lol We fumbled this conversation.

Yup, I want TBC Era as well - and a HC BC Era! Let us keep asking!

When I was leveling hunter on era, more than a year ago you were constantly looking for people to clear Naxx  so you got your pixela and now you are worshiping them.

Why lie?

My last log in Naxx with this char is the 15.02.2023 - Missed the mark by a month and a half. I never looked for people to clear the raid either, since I was not responsible for organizing or sorting out raids.

Let’s just pick the best looking scenario and assume you clearly don’t know what you are talking about.

My hunter activity ended ~May 2023 so it’s about right. Before I even started you were going over forums and realm chats looking for people. You seem to be constantly subscribed, heavily addicted and want Blizzard to do only ERA fresh/ERA-related stuff. Coping hard whenever people want to play something else to have different experiences.

Why would Blizzard care about the least-played Classic variant? “it’s not about raiding” yet the numbers are vastly lower - clearly it’s not appealing or interesting to players to sit on near-dead realms for years with no new content. You have your fun while others have their own elsewhere.

And in this topic 3 of you really want Anniversary to behave like Era and stay 2+ years in Classic version for no reason. This isn’t Era. Any transfer options aren’t confirmed as well. Add TBC making Naxx less appealing to push, people not getting easy gearing through GDKP and people will be begging for TBC sooner than later.

Anniversary is not ERA and will not stay “in ERA”. You said you don’t even play Anniversary. TBC is announced and it’s rather obvious they will not abandon Anniversary after TBC unless it dies out. TBC own Era servers are a long-standing wishlist and it’s uncertain if it will happen. Nothing is confirmed for now so don’t assume it will be - it may go to Cata and then all the way to Classic Legion.
