More undead races?

Levelling a couple of chars through older content such as Wotlk I went through the whole Forsaken/Wrathgate bits again and it occurred to me that if Sylvie has mastery over the dead, how is it all undead appear to be of a human form? Surely even now in BfA there would be undead Orcs, Tauren, Trolls etc. Raising dead Horde troops as undead would be just as useful as raising the dead of the enemy.

If she really wanted to punish Baine she could pop over to Mulgore and raise Cairne as a minion. Perhaps the stench of rotting beef would be a bit much to bear but I quite fancy the idea of playing a zombie cow.

Undead Night elf would be sick since they became pretty popular with 8.1

I have a feeling an upcoming new undead race is going to be the same as mag’har in customization, where one race actually consists of many different things.

Night Elves are already dead to me so that would fit nicely, a creepy looking Zombie Nelf = Zelf.
They could do the dance as a bit of the old MJ Thriller Shaky Shaky bones style.

The Thriller dance routine would be quite amusing. Particularly if we had a whole group doing it with a Worgen howling along lol.

Death knights already fit a lot of the brief you described to be honest.

My main thought is why is nathanos so human looking, and would we ever get playable undead humans like him?

Agreed with OP, more undead races!

They haven’t really got that whole zombie rotting corpse look about them in the same way as normal undead do. I play a Tauren DK which is close but it just makes little sense that Sylvie hasn’t raised the corpses of all the fallen Horde races.

Nathanos has this model cause Sylvanas killed his cousin and used his body to make him more “human” looking, it was very difficult process

As far as I know other Horde leaders such as Lorthermar Theron explicitly told her NOT to bring their soldiers back, so that leaves pretty much only alliance races. As to why they aren’t, I don’t know, but I guess it’s just a technical issue of faction identity blah blah blah, so they probably won’t ever be playable, but there sure are many undead races.

I can’t imagine the other horde leaders would take kindly to that. Maybe if there was an undead faction of some kind. But that’ll never happen.

If she did the other Horde races would put an end to Silvie’s existence. During MoP she made little joke about raising dead elves to Lor’themar, which was not taken lightly. Maybe goblins could go along with it, but I really don’t see any other Horde race accepting that.

Ok and what about the Dark Ranger characters like Lyana? I mean, i can understand this argumentation but it’s kinda funny that this comes from Lorthemar considering there are other undead blood elfs besides Sylvanas. :sweat_smile:

She could have a perfectly reasonable explanation, doesn’t mean they would accept it and allow it. If she would try that she would have a rebellion on her hands for sure.

I’m sure Baine will be pleased to know the other leaders would rebel against her making more undead races but not against him being made a prisoner.

then how is it that Derek Proudmore didn’t get the same treatment but does look very human like Nathanos? He should have been totally bloated from lying in the sea.
