Most disappointing wow zones

Which are the most disappointing wow zones? Not just bad, but also zones that could have been much more.

In my opinion:

Mac’aree had one of the highest potentials, we could have actually got to see the city, could have been similar to surumar but with draenei aesthetics, and damaged, but not to the point of being unrecognizable. Still looks really good, but very disappointing when you think about it. Maybe for the future…

Make your examples.

Vol’dun.

You want to tell me that both Vulperas and the Setthraks (or however you write it) wasn’t able to establish a proper civilization? Vulperas do not have a single dwelling and they have a wagon for every 20th of them.

The snakes only borrow the titan pyramids and all they could make in 10.000 years was a temple.

Old Silithus. It could have been something but it was nothing for the longest time!
But I’ll also say WOD Shadowmoon Valley could have had a proper Black Temple before corruption but it was cut sadly!

Oh yea, omg, they just put the temple of karabor into the trashbin, man, wod had such a high potential to be good.

No shattrath raid, no temple of karabor, not even a full zone we should have got which was faralon. Basically netherstorm.

It was said you were going to be able to see Tempest keep and all the other ships before it was all a mess, that would have been gorgeous! But alas, it did not happen \0/

Dazar’alor

Like literally all you had to do is turn the big pyramid by 180 degrees and everyone would’ve been happy. But no. We have to awkwardly fly to the harbor every time.

Clear Alliance bias.

If they had the tech back in 2004 silithus could’ve been such a cool place to dynamically retake the zone from the silithid, build up strongholds and fortifications here and there.

That’s very true! They could have had stuff like Hellfire with bases and buffs! That’d be cool!

To be honest the one that takes the title for me is Nazjatar. That place was especially annoying when I didn’t have flying. Not to mention it was supposed to be some sunken city. It’s more like a series of caves with some ruins. I make it a point not to go there.

Tirisfall Glades.

Imagine if it was still in the grasp of the Alliance and the undead had been purged from the land.
It would have been glorious.

Desolace. That’s all. I -hate- Desolace, even with its pretty little oasis now, I never go there. Blech!

At least it lives up to its’ name. In both geography, content and player population.

They did do a magnificent job of making it desolate, I simply can’t give the art team anything but praise. I love the entire game. I just despise levelling there. If we go off places I hate quests, I got a longer list, but ultimately I love each zone for looks and theme.

Questing:
-Borean Tundra
Propably because I’ve seen it too many times leveling the alts
-Dread Wastes
Just bad. Poor artstyle and very high mob densities everywhere
-Stormheim
Without flying this is nightmare to navigate. Come on, at least give us flying in spirit form so we can actually reach the damn corpse which is on a mile high vertical cliff!!!
-Crystalsong Forest
This zone has nothing in it. Literally, an empty zone. No quests, no rare NPCs, barely any resource nodes. And it’s right in the centre of Northrend ffs.

Endgame zones:
-Timeless Isle
Eh i just don’t get this kind of content. I almost never visited it in MOP, except for grinding the 100 000 coin shaohao mount and Bloody Coins with Censer (oof, this item was incredibly hated back in the day)
-Nazjatar
Oh, this one is bad. I really, really hate Nazjatar. Grinding rep to revered was a nightmare. Hideous to navigate, has underwater quests without speed boost, has leylocked chest quests, has medusa jump quests. The worst endgame zone ever conceived.

Frankly that’s about it. Majority of WoW zones are good to excellent. I was able to name just several baddies.

Gilneas. It had sooo much potential.

Ye argus in general, nyalotha and their version of black empire presented by two zones with some minor visuals.

Argus looked great, but thinking back about it, it was kinda wasted. i think they should have put more effort into it. It could have been an expansion by itself. I hope they do not put it into the trash for the future.

Absolutely. :pensive:

That has to be the Horde Garrison and Frost Fire Ridge for me.
I got so disappointed that I factionchanged right there and then, and stayed Alliance ever since, spite always having played Horde lol.
