hey everyone,
my main is a melee class i was thinking of making my alt a caster.
I came down to these 3 classes a Fire Mage,Balance Druid or Shadow Priest…
which one of these is most fun to you guys?
Im not really into raiding but i do like to do Mythic and Mythic+
which one would be best?
also thinking of the future with 8.1 SP sopposed to get buffed???

Fire Mage is oodles of fun. Never really liked balance droods nor Spriests.

I personally absolutely adore my Spriest, but I’m not sure if the changes coming with 8.1 will make them fun and useful again, because atm, they are not. So I’d suggest the Firemage instead. Druids are great dps, but… they are so boring…
Gotta go with mage on this one

Never really liked dot heavy classes like druid /lock and never tried shadow priest before ( always though it is warlock but less interesting) . Fire mage seems like most fun out of all.
Btw for mythic+ balance or frost mage for sure. Aoe interrupt is op and slow is op.
Bias here but I say shadow priest however im extremely casual and enjoy playing my spriest which has been my main since late vanilla. Ive stuck with him through the highs and lows im used to it.
I have an alt fire mage which I also enjoyed but I haven’t played him in BfA but I will do.
My druids have always been feral so cant say what they are like as casters.
Is there any difference in casters anymore these days?
I feel like they all do same things just different colors of spells, might just be me tho.
My main is a shadow priest and I love it! Currently their DPS is bad, but they’re buffed in 8.1 (which is next week) and I’m sure we’ll do great again. It’s a really fun gameplay!
Fire Mage is for me more fun than the 2 other choices.
shadow priest is the worst thing in the world, ever. dull dull and /snore. fire mages are proccy with nice looking abilities and im quite fond of it. balance is sick dps and easy to play so its between doomchicken and pyrochappie … personally, Id go doomchicken purely cos you can call yourself a doomchicken
ok thanks guys
i think i might go fire mage then but i also got my eye on SP isnt the 8.1 changes soposed to make them good again?
i have os boomkin in bfa , i had alt frost/fire mage in legion,
i will say mage is more engaging and fun.
Fire mage unless you like the utility an hybrid has to offer
Boomkin vs SPriest is a personal choice
Guess it just boils down to preference, i personally main balance druid but also love shadow. Mages are fun but never have been my favourite.
With the the heritage armour why don’t you make an allied race (assuming you have them unlocked) and try all 3 out whilst leveling
I don’t have experience with druids at all but:
- fire mage is a beast in PVP
- so do shadow priests with decent backup
In raids and M+ fire mage is a little bit lottery: if it procs frequently, then it’s fun, if not, it’s not. Shadow priest good for most of M+ due to high cleave and utilities but the DPS is just bad for single target atm.
You should make a few class trial characters and spend like 15 mins with each spec to see if the basic rotation, the class fantasy, the abilities and CD’s fits your desires. Or just make allied race characters, level up a little bit, do some quest, look into a few battlegrounds and dungeons to see the very basic of the specs in motion.
Balance druid is definitely best option if you wanna do M+
If you want to play as a dps go for a mage, it has nice looking spells, a dynamic playstyle and reliable cc.
Shadow priest is boring and has an average to low dps compared to other classes.
Fire mage. Its very fast paced and reactive. You need high crit though to make it work properly so you can’t slack on gear.
