Hey everyone,
I’m looking at creating an alt, i’m not really comfortable with tanking or healing so i would like to stick with DPS if possible. I’m just a casual player at the moment so looking for something enjoyable to play. Im also pretty much a beginner… i played about 10 years ago but lived alot since then… kids etc so basically retraining myself on the game!
Thank you
as a beginer I would saying something like Beast Mastery hunter is a great one, or havoc DH, both have very easy rotations that are easy to learn

Both Shaman DPS specs are fun, especially elemental

Wouldn’t pick melee spec.
That said MM hunter is rather simple with upfront burst and pet to tank for you and lot of options to kite things.
Elemental shaman is good pick too you can pop earth ele when things go bad. Only downside aoe takes long to kick in and is meh at best.
Fun is a personal preference. I find fun Havoc, Enha shaman and in general melee expect feral
I dont find fun fire mages, Alock, SP and most range except Ele and Destro.
Others will like and dislike the direct opposite of my preferences. That being said you need to find what is fun for you. Is diferent to ask which is better so ppl can indeed answer to that, than to ask which is most fun cause noone can answer that for you.

Warlock. If it had tank spec I would never change it.

Coming from a crazy altoholic who dislikes overcomplication, I’d say go for monk. Windwalker is super fun, both pvp and pve, and easy to get into, not to mention they’re amazing in current endgame.
If you want easymode in world content, I’d say havoc or beast mastery, but those are a snoozefest imo

I’d say Shadow Priest is really fun… when you get more haste.
Of all the specs I’ve found Windwalker monks the most fun to play. It’s actually telling that out of all my characters - who are all dps, mind you - i have 106 days played on my monk and my other als only scrunge up 40 days playtime in total.
Monks are incredably versatile, have good self-sustain meaning they don’t die easily, if they pull too many mobs. That’s because after killing a mob they create a healing sphere that gives the monk a portion of their life back, so they are able to gather large packs and burst them down with aoe and it’ll appear like they werent even touched.
They can also be healers with asian inspired healing spell or can smash kegs of brew on top of a mob and light it on fie
Windwalker mastery makes it so you get damage penalty if you cast a spell twice in a row so clicking a variety of spells and abilities as WW is what makes them do more dmg. Not to mention that their numerous aoe and interrupts make them great in BGs.

trust me. If finding the most fun was that easy, then all dps players would have been the same class and same spec.
Use the class trial. see different classes and find what you feel like is more fun to play.
It comes down to the player. For some, range is more fun. some might not like casters. Some might like high mobility, or high bursts, or lots of CC, etc.
Check them out and find your alt that way.

So far, about the only fun DPS spec I found is Affliction Warlock. There were some other that were tolerable, but Affli is the only one that I could describe positively.
Monk is so versatile that when you play him for a while you will hardly switch to any other class. Godlike mobility, solid healing and def cds. It’s great for pvp/pve and open world stuff right now and I don’t see that changing any time soon. The most important thing is that it is fun and has unique mechanics.

Firemage. Just press 1 button and get free gladiator
Hunters are popular for a reason, because they are awesome.
Cool class fantasy, melee dps and range dps, have a buddy no matter what.
Hunter is most fun.
What is that magical button?

Good question. On these forums, the strongest spec in the game somehow always becomes a “1 button spec” that gives you free wins even if you play with your monitor is turned off.

U suggest ww monk for a beginner? Takes more knowledge than many other specs to play, both pvp/pve.
Agree with the fun part!
the one where you keep macro doing the entire combust rotation for you, I suppose
as for what DPS to play, havoc probably wins - quick, dynamic, ‘jumpy’, with loads of nice and easy to use utility. The only downside is after using glide and double jump a little you dont want to go back to playing normal classes.
