I’m thinking of boosting a monk to try MW. I’m interested if people have had fun and success with MW in arenas and mythic + (10+). Or what other healers are people enjoying?
I care more about play style than how good they are at healing.
i enjoy resto druid a great deal. but then again im a druid lover so im heavily bias.
i suppose it all comes down to personal taste. mws arent bad, they are fun to play but i d still pick druid over mw or any other healer.
depends on how far you want to push keys though, not every healer is viable in high end keys with pugs.
Discipline.
Monk seems to be the oppisite to me
They are really good, but really boring
If you want a fun or more intresting healer i’d reccomend disc priest or holy palla

Monk has mana issues in dungeons, when not geared/managed properly. Something your druid is never going to have.
My advice… don’t boost. (At least until you are familiar with the role).
If you do you may find don’t actually enjoy the class, but more likely you will probably realise you don’t know what half your abilities do or how to actually play the role effectively.
With the 100% exp buff levelling is quick and will provide you with a feel of how each heal class performs.
edit: maybe i’m biased but holy priest is the only choice xd

I refuse to play with disc priests, if I see one get invited to the group and I notice it in time, I’m out. It never works out.
You haven’t seen my disciplines ! They have very good transmogs!

best healer is what you like best to look at. since ur a barbie your next choice should be barbie priest or paladin. class does not matter at all - gear does
Not sure what the groups you left were for but disc is viable for all content. You might have missed out on some good groups because you let a few bad players ruin you opinion of the spec.
To OP I would say try the healers out but you might not want to invest the time, so I would advise a class that you also like the other specs of!

You need a tank, who understands discs. Disc really NEEDS that tank to understand the basic “need a target to do wild tricks” logic. Just like monk tank needs that healer to understand how stagger works.
Those two - brew monks and disc priests are a bit special cases. Their goodness in a dungeon depends on their counterpart in tanking/healing. They are very powerful, but come with great weakness that accompanies that power.
As solo disc, you likely are going to struggle if your tank cannot make difference between holy, disc, or druid, or monk, or shaman healers.
The thing is 96% of pug tanks lose 80% health pr sec because defensives are overrated
So disc is pretty much impossible
“defensive, whats that ?” When there are bosses that require AM, then you may have tanks asking “wait what is AM?”

Hehhehe. Active mitigation. It is more of a legion meme, in BfA most tank defensive abilities are active mitigation abilities, but in legion there were certain spells for each tank spec, and you had dungeon bosses that required you to press spell X or you almost (or completely) died.
Most notorious AM-fail boss was raden in TOT hc though - where 2 classes were broken (warriors and dks) and Blizzard “forgot” to add those classes to the ‘list’ and boss always insta killed them even with perfectly timed ability use. I do not know if warriors got fixed some point, but I had to do the boss as dps monk instead for achievement despite being realm highest ilevel player at time on my dk

Don’t forget you can always try them out with the class trial before you commit to anything!

I’ve never met a disc priest that can handle doing mythic plus. Unless it’s keys that are like 4-5. Like when it was grievous, I tried, I really tried with a disc priest in the group. We just ended up wiping so many times and eventually people left.
Resto Druid is the most fun I’ve had healing tbh.
